Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
It’s quite easy*, simply go to the dd-wrt interface and the config page for vlan. Once there untick ”auto negotiate” (this means the nic and switch try to decide speed by themselves), once unticked you can change the other options. For 10mbit half duplex all should be unticked except ”enabled”...
You should be able to set the link speed manually in DD-wrt. Set the port you’re connected to to 10mbit, half duplex and auto neg off and see if that helps. Also check the status lights on both your switch and nic to check that the connection has been established.
Haha @bcschmidt I guess I was one of those others on FB. It’s been bugging me for a year+ now. Excited to give ColorDesk a try, I believe thats’s the only one I haven’t tried so far. The one built into After Dark did not work for me on 7.5.5 & SE/30.
So happy to now own a //c with Swedish letters ”åäö”. I consider the industrial design of this setup to be iconic, and finding a SWE/FIN version just makes it so much more special for me. It would be super interesting to have a ballpark figure of how many might still be in existence, figure it’s...
I'm really no expert compared to others here, but will offer my tips anyhow. Do with them what you please 😂
For the cut traces by C8 I would simply scrape of some of the solder mask on either side (about 2mm), put on some fresh solder and run a super short bodge between. No need to run the full...
Hi!
I've been looking for a IIc monitor and stand for a while and have found a few decent deals in France. I've written a few sellers but I guess they think it's some kind of scam when a Swede writes them in english asking to ship to Sweden, as none have gotten back to me 😅.
If there are any...
Thank’s for the tips :). I have mostly 68k compacts, but also a G4 iBook mostly used by my daughter to play old kids games (she loves it).
Sadly no other zip drives, and I have most others network so not really in a need of a bridge either.
Games could be fun, I wonder if it could pull of...
Couldn’t resist picking up this Quicksilver as it was only $10 and in great (working) shape. I’ve always considered this case design to be incredibly cool and reeeaaally wanted one back in the day. Got super excited when I picked it up, but once I got home it kind of dawned on me that I have no...
What are the physical dimensions of the sims? When you insert the mb, do you place it in the cutouts and swivel it in?
I have both a set of Keystrons and Purpleram, both fit without issue.
Well, the good thing is I got the pleasure of diving into fun apple dev docs haha. And, if I manage to snag one of the few available cards (oh boy do I want to), what's to stop me from buying a rom programmer and making my own fancy splash screen haha ;).
And, yes, I have a 1yr old and a 4yr...
Sorry for going full spammy on this topic, I just got excited is all and interpreted the splash to be the last remaining topic (kind of). Now if I weren’t an idiot I could have noticed that @GeekDot already had sorted out displaying a Bolle icon at boot as evidenced in video.
If at all possible...
I could def. have misunderstood something. But from what I interpreted from "DCaDftMF", the driver (if embedded into the DeclROM and the correct "flags" are set in PrimaryInit) is executed before the SecondaryInit (p. 166, p. 202 and onward). It states that cards that needs the secondary init to...
I just found this very interesting video of a Raster Ops 264 booting. ->
If you look at the reboot at 00:10, it seems to me that:
- The (very fancy and animated) splash appear before the VRAM is wiped with the grey (Assembly code loop) screen.
- It seems to take a second or so before the VRAM...
Ah! Then my current approach would be to reference the (a) driver (stored in the DeclROM) in the PrimaryInit. It should then get loaded into main memory by the slot manager. Then; use the "driver" to call the QuickDraw functions (if available).
So the current setup does not include any "driver"...
I don't know whether the current hardware does utilize any driver code (though I'd be super interested in learning :) .
And yes, I'd be absolutely thrilled to contribute in anyway I can, I feel like I already kind of invited myself into this endeavour haha (sorry if I'm annoying anyone, def. not...
In Appendix C, the grey screen is called from the video driver example under the “open” routine. Also it’s mentioned in the documentation that indeed the driver is responsible for filling the screen with grey (not PrimaryInit). I could have another look and get back to you with page nr’s.
Edit...
Seems I got hooked on this topic haha. After having stared at "Designing cards and drivers" for two days, my guess is that (and I expect you know A LOT more than me here so sorry if I'm stating something obvious or stupid here):
The splash screen image should be called in the open routine of...
16kb of code seems plenty, 5k for animated graphics haha not so much 😂. Perhaps 16k would be good enough to animate some stuff in code, altough I guess there’s no graphics or animation libraries available so it would be quite the pain to code 😅
In what order would the splash screen show? Would...
