Turns out I ordered a Pic 150k. Didn’t look too closely and it was $10 with next day delivery so didn’t think twice. Oh well, might be handy some other time. The cheapest TL886 variants seems to run about $85 😮
Just recieved my programmer and am ready to dump some roms. Problem is I have no clue which chip/pic type to choose? 😅. Anyone know what type from the list should work for this rom? Thanks
Hmm that's interesting, never seen a VDR-2J before. Any idea on what the difference is between that and the VDR-2A? I've also come across a VDR-2L, exactly same hardware as the VDR-2A except all the oscillator slots are filled (and the rom of course) - leading me to believe that is the "Vimage...
You have impressive knowledge around Supermac, did you perhaps work there at some time? :) Thanks for sharing! Don't have any specific questions other than just really interesting to learn a bit about the history of the cards. Interesting to have it confirmed they weren't really a volume...
“piece of kit
A specific item, often a piece of equipment. Primarily heard in UK.”
Sorry as a Swede (that has had obligatory british english as part of the curriculum) I don’t always realize some expressions doesn’t make sense in US english 😅
After quite the journey I have now in my hands two Supermac SE/30 cards. Both with identical hardware, but two different roms (as expected / established earlier in the thread). One sold as the ”Spectrum/8 series II SE/30” and one (software gimped one) as the ”Colorcard SE/30”. Both support a...
This great little piece of kit made my way thanks to @moldy.
Firstly tested it out on my SE/30 combined with a Kinetics Etherport II SE/30. It was a simple plug and play and happily chugged along peaking at 120kB/sec. Not bad reaching almost a megabit on 34 year old gear! (Running OT on 7.5.5)...
@Realitystorm it seems your web is having some issues? Was just about to revisit your excellent (thank you for providing this to the community) guides and try this new image out 😅.
I thought I did but sadly I have deleted them. Not much to see expect filth in the form of half eaten nuts, mouse spillings and cigarette ash (I’m guessing) 🤢
Oh yhea! Totally forgot about that. DM your address!
Yes, I'm aware as I use it myself running on a Owrt bridge. However from what I know that's the closest you'll ever get to wifi support under 68k macs. Still unclear what you'd do with software support running on 68k as there doesn't exist any wifi hardware for those machines (at least that I...
Ah ok. I'm not aware of any Wifi hardware for 68k macs? How would you connect to your AP without the hardware also being on the mac to start with? Could you detail a bit more what you are after? :)
Great that you got it working! FYI it does not have to be 16MB sims in both for it to work. You can mix sizes as long as you do it in groups of four (ie. 4x16 + 4x4 works too).
