USB-C powered 8"display for the Apple IIc with STL files and build plan

I actually looked into replacing the resistor, but I couldn’t even manage to figure out which on to change on the driver board (pcb800099) 😅. I got ahold of the panel spec sheets so know what the backlight wants for full light. It should be 300 nits, but juding how dim it is I really don’t think...

USB-C powered 8"display for the Apple IIc with STL files and build plan

Nice! Did you happen to note what actual lcd panel the Eyoyo display uses? I've been eyeing that one too for a color SE/30 project as the HJ080IA-01E I bought is a bit too dim for my taste.

Trying to identify PDS video card make

@aminor works fine under 32-bit mode 🎉. Only "issue" is the mentioned need for initial boot with Mac OS < 6.08. Perhaps there's a way to set the needed pram parameter some other way to ensure 7+ compabillity. @bigmessowires might have an idea as he bought my 2nd SuperMac card and has played...

Trying to identify PDS video card make

I have a rom dump for the card if you'd like to dig into it to see what it is doing. I myself have zero clue on how to read / disassemble one of those and kind of gave up. My initial idea way back was to learn how to hack the rom to add additional resolutions / modes (ie maybe greyscale to run...

Trying to identify PDS video card make

Yhea it's a bit of a struggle to get it working under System 7. The way they implemented the screen / resolution picker breaks booting anything above 6.08. The only way to get it into 7+ is to first boot in < 6.08, and then have the setting you choose retained in pram. I have one myself, but due...

Trying to identify PDS video card make

Yes, Supermac Spectrum. See this thread for some more info. Unfortunately not a super useful card as it struggles with os support and some bugs. But a cool piece of history nevertheless. https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/supermac-pdq-spectrum-8-24-thunder-roms.42656/post-502094

Does this sound like a reasonable price?

For what it’s worth I had two for sale locally here in Sweden for $50 and $40. One in excellent condition and the cheaper a bit yellow. Took me 3-4 weeks to get rid of them at that price 😅.

    Apple IIc New to Me!

I’d go for a Rom4x and a FujiApple. I bought mine from @masteries here on 68kmla. A joystick is also nice to have. That’s pretty much it unless you’d feel the want for a mockingboard.

SuperMac PDQ, Spectrum 8, 24, Thunder ROMs

That’s awesome! There’s a fourth socket available for adding an oscillator, so hopefully you wouldn’t have to exchange anything and can just add the 24mhz one 😊.

What about a 29c256? Seems like a popular replacement for a 27c128 from what I managed to find online.

Finally recieved my T48! Attached is a dump of the "Supermac Spectrum SE/30 v1.0" rom. Please help me check wether it seems correct as it's my first ever rom dump. I could read some text in the written data so that at least looked promising :).

Yahoo Japan/Buyee major score- SE/30 with extras

I found this, seems you hold down a number on the keyboard according to this table upon boot to change card settings. This table only refers to the ”non cad” version of the card, so perhaps simply try numbers above 5 if the multisync setting doesn’t give you extra resolutions in the monitor...

    Like it’s christmas 1989

Haha thought I’d seen a earlier version dated 1989. But perhaps they were released in -90. Terribly sorry to spread misinformation on such important details. I’ll make amends by celebrate the holiday twice this season 🤣

    Like it’s christmas 1989

Forgot to take a picture of the actual card (Vimage SE/30 | VDR-2A) in my eager to get it running. But it came with a fairly late rom with version 1.3-1. Will share a dump as soon as my T48 gets here from China in a few weeks time. After that, the plan is to add the missing oscillators and...

    Like it’s christmas 1989

Just received this little box of awesomeness straight from Japan (Buyee). Paid more than I’d like to admit (about $285 all in all 😬), but getting to open that box and experience the glory of 24bit color from a SE/30 was almost worth it 😂.

Yahoo Japan/Buyee major score- SE/30 with extras

Thank you so much for taking the time to investigate. Super interesting. Checking here: https://archive.org/details/interware-vimage-macintosh-video-card-catalog/page/n2/mode/1up , the ”CAD” version should be able to do up to 1024*768 @ 8 bit. Given the osscilators there seems to be a chance...
