"soft" power not software. its a board inside of the power supply that does it called trickle 5v. this senses when you press the button and tells the psu to turn on. at this point the computer is off so no software can run.
its not software start its a 5v standby that the little daughterboard generates when you press the power button on the keyboard. afaik a generic atx 5v standby does the samething?
I have a IIsi with a very dead psu. So I am looking to replace it with a pico atx. My main question is will any 120vac pico atx work? do I need anything special? I do still have the apple connector but I just need to depin it.
i was wondering anyone had dumped the roms? the card itself doesn’t have a lot going on so it must of had some sort of serial to token ring/coax adapter

the board worked when i found this(outside believe it or not) however it doesn’t work now. i don’t think it boots at all but its been a long time since i last tested.
so any advice on cleaning? i’d assume baking soda and a toothbrush?
also i’m a very basic novice at soldering but this would be...
So have any caps leaked? it’s really hard to tell if they have i’m not seeing any wetness. the cap i did take off looked fine.
what’s the best stuff to use to remove it? i did a very basic wash with cold water but we have very hard water here so i may end up using distilled water. just using a...
So i’m not sure if this is the right section if it’s not please delete.
I have what i thought was a mac classic II logic board but it doesn’t really match the bomarc schematics i found. Can someone tell me if this indeed is a mac classic II? if not what it is and i’m wondering how i got it...
heic is not an apple format its an industry standard. however im not sure if Windows supports it. google supports it and there are converts you can download to convert it to jpg. i believe photoshop will read it as well.
heic is a mpeg standard however not everyone supports it yet.
ok the battery and the compartment are clean. now either the sweep board or the crt itself. im leaning towards the board. the manual says it comes right out not so much.
i think i found the culprit. the pram battery appears to have leaked i see a little bit of oxide on the bottom of the board. but for the life of me i think figure out how to remove it. the manuel just says remove it not how
