I'd have to say, I think @PotatoFi's video (I wasn't on the livestream) is pretty good to watch for those of us who question our soldering skills... I guess I'm actually not too bad for a novice myself after all. Otherwise, yeah, with the length and all, sort of a waste of time to watch the...
In the case of the 2005 Dell Inspiron e1505 laptop I've mentioned, I found out that it uses a MAX8759ETI IC as the "brain" of the inverter board and I've found the datasheet online. It's capable of dimming control via PWM, SMBus (I2C), or ambient light sensor. I wish I knew what year it was...
For my experience, one big problem is disassembling the screen to to install the replacement. I've simply used a matching replacement panel when I had a CCFL bulb failure, though I would have preferred swapping out with an LED light. Another big problem is mechanical compatibility such as bulb...
Okay, so I was downplaying myself about totally blowing the foam dimensions. It turns out that even though my starting assumption was the wrong in-box orientation, rescaling for the correct orientation barely changed the dimensions of my foam block! So, here you go @maceffects, out of one of...
Well, we'll see. So far with only a few responses, the interest is definitely also there for SE/30. I'd guess a cardboard-only order could be quite economic if total box orders is around 50-100, maybe around $15.
But yeah, with the shaped foam blocks, low volume could be quite a bit more...
Oh wow... now I found that there are even two revisions of the Macintosh SE boxing! The older revision has "™" trademark marking around the Macintosh name, the newer revision has "®" registered trademark for the Macintosh name, and it has carrying handle holes.
Since I'm ending up creating the box art designs and foam block designs for multiple compact Macintosh models, I'd like to get an idea of the general interest for prints of each particular model's replica boxing. Note that the Macintosh Plus in particular has a few different revisions of box...
Nice, very interesting to hear. I like to entertain the idea of how much can you do in electronics with a portable outfit that doesn't require a big trunk of your own car, though with that luggage carry you might require more than one seat.
Yeah, pretty much I was going to write ^ what Cory said. You could have a more modern computer be a mini-ISP that connects vintage computers to period-accurate dialup modems on a local network.
@maceffects Actually, I think you've come back to this thread around just the right time. Wow, that's very nice to have those options available. Regarding the foam, another update relevant update...
After perusing several Ebay listing photos, looks like Eric's box is missing some foam, and I...
Okay, posting the updated Macintosh SE box design, changed brown to the proper white. Also, I created as much of the Macintosh SE/30 box design as I could realistically infer from the few photos I've found, the legal notice on the last panel in particular probably isn't accurate to the original...
Okay, so now I saw the original Macintosh's box art design and got all excited because it's nothing but cheap vector graphics, devoid of photos. It should be a piece of cake, even reconstructing from low-resolution Ebay photos.

Great for adding a second Ethernet port to your Raspberry Pi to do advanced networking.
I am quite intrigued by an instance of a compact Macintosh travel bag that I've found on Ebay.
Previously, I've once read about there being a whole market of constantly trying to design new and improved DSLR camera carrying, I figure it couldn't be too much harder to design a modern compact...
Nice, more than skin-deep, that Lego design even accurately models the major interior components! The actual Lego model looks to be bigger than the corresponding size of my miniature box printout, though, it would require printing the box design on paper larger than US letter or A4. But yeah...
@Kai Robinson The MCU can run at 32kHz, it's just that I wouldn't recommend it without USI, which I haven't implemented yet. Bit-banging serial is almost certainly too slow at 32kHz clock. And yeah, there is the other reason I mentioned about the ATTiny85's internal load capacitance...
Hopefully you do get the patch merged in soon, then looks like the description of Winter Games on Macintosh Garden can be updated to remove the note that Mini vMac doesn't work.
