Everything worked fine with the hard drive set to slave. I can't remember where I saw it , but I read something about Target Disk Mode needing the hard drive set to master.
I have one of each of these super drives-- UJ-815-C, UJ-825-C. One's from a Powerbook G4, and the other from a G5. I also have a 50 to 40 pin adapter.
I'm guessing either one would work, but I read that these drives are set to master and you need to set the hard drive to slave.
I read...
When you used the plastic wrap-- were there lots of wrinkles? I just did the plastics on a Laserwriter II and noticed that where I had wrinkles ended up with a similar effect to your SE. Not as bad, however. I reapplied the 40 developer and smoothed out the plastic wrap and was able to even...
I would be interested in seeing the pictures-- Thanks.
I 'm also thinking of making this heatsink for the VRM from some aluminum stock.

Is there anything that can be done to protect the original VRM's-- Mine is still working but I'm wondering if I should buy one of the Artmix VRM's for my Cube.
I installed an 80mm fan in the bottom of the Cube--There is a mounting bracket there already. The VRM moudule has a 12V fan connector, and I bought the pins and matching connector. The fan runs all the time, but the one I bought is quiet.
I can post the part numbers from Mouser when I get...
That cube is in great shape. You can get a 32MB Radeon 7500 on ebay for $10. It drops right in. The only thing is the slot cover plate will need a little rework. Or, you get get a project off Thingverse and 3-D print a slot cover...
Thanks-- The IIg prints really nice for a 300dpi printer. A lot of Laserjet II / III parts will work with it -- same SX engine .
I have a LW 4/600 too.
Right now, I have System 7 Pro, Photoshop 4, Illustrator 6 and Pagemaker 6 and Office 4.2.1 on it. Also has Ofoto scanner software and the Original Apple scanner app.
I'll give Hyperscan a try!
I've been working on this one for a while-- about 5 months I think. A Mac IIci desktop publishing system.
The IIci is 100 percent recapped including the PSU. It has 68MB RAM, SCSI2SD, A Supermac Spectrum 24 III video card and an Apple PC Floppy card.
It also has a Daystar Turbo 040 Card...
There are two TL084 op amps on the back of the board, in the same area of the sound chip-- Does anyone know if those are part of the sound circuitry?
My guess is that they are-- I've seen these IC's used in audio applications before.
Well, I can't find any broken traces. I wonder if the 343S0129-01 DFAC chip failed. The sound was failing before the recap-- original symptom was static and noise from the hardware-- when there is disk access, etc...
The board is in a Color Classic-- I have a good LC575 board that works.
I've been looking at this board with a bright light and magnifying visor, but can't see any broken traces.
I checked continuity on every trace I can see coming off the chip.
Have you ever run into a new, but bad tantalum...
I'm working on a LC575 board-- recapped it and reworked an overclock section. It had been running at 43Mhz for about ten years.
It's running at 33Mhz right now and there's still no sound after the recap. I found a bad trace from C4 to U1 was well. Had to re-flow a leg on U1.
If I plug in a...
I didn't know that, and you are correct. I thought they made a card for both.
I wouldn't give up my Ethernet card in the SE/30 anyway...
The 5.25 drive only works with Apple file exchange on my IIci-- Not of much use, but kinda cool to have working.
