I just installed a seasonic ssp-250sub in my SE/30, Astec power supply case and when the fan kicks in I can hear it whirring away-- loud enough that it bugs me. Did anyone remove the fan on their installation?
I recently picked up an Astec AA13800 power supply. Seemed to be working but the -12 volt rail was -9.8 volts. I re-capped it and the negative 12 volt rail is still -9.8 volts. Doesn't seem right, but I don't another unit to check against. Does anyone have one of these units and if so, could...
There's a couple of missing components -C5 and UC12. I'd start cleaning the board with a toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol. get all the crud off the board and then see what it looks like. UC12 is a 75175 line receiver chip and that's why the serial port isn't working. It will need a re-cap...
It has damage, but I've seen a lot worse... Are the legs of the RTC chip gone on one side? It's hard to tell what the damage to the traces is without getting a look at it with a magnifying visor, but it doesn't look terrible. Are the pads for c12 still there or were they dissolved? I'd try...
Components d1 ,d2, y1, c12 are gone and I think I see a broken trace by RP 8. The Rtc chip my be damaged as well. I would use isopropyl and a toothbrush to really clean up the area around the battery to further assess the damage. It will need the missing components replaced plus a recap for...
The plastics are very brittle now. I dropped a 540 Adapter on a concrete floor from three feet and it basically exploded into multiple pieces.
I cut one open with a razor knife or X-Acto knife. (I think it was an X-Acto ) I followed the groove in the case, using the edge of the top cover as...
I got my last three rebuilt toners from LD Products. I had to send a couple back for replacement, because their rebuilt toners are bad some times.
I have one on the printer, two still sealed in the box, and two cleaning blades. LD doesn't rebuild them anymore, and it will be diffcult to find...
I tried to find the documents I had when I figured this out. Can't find them. Somehow, I came up with that FA9-2733-000 Canon part number and bought two. One of mine has been opened, which is why I'm saying I think I compared it. If you have a bad 95A toner, take the blade out and I can...
I cross-referenced mine to that same part number. When I got the blade, I think I compared it to a blade from a 95A that I tore apart, and it was the same. A lot of printers used the Canon SX Engine.
I went through many "new" 95A Toners when I restored my Laserwriter IIg. None were good. I did end up finding a couple of rebuilt ones on eBay, but that was a while ago. I also found blades and padding powder at a place in Arizona. Again, it was a while ago. Maybe 4 years.
Here's where I...
I have an early 2009 Mac Mini 2.0Ghz, core Duo. It's running El Capitan 10.11 right now, but I'm thinking of updating to Sierra 10.12. Problem is, the Wifi card is going to stop working. I have one of the unsupported Broadcom BCM4321 WiFii cards in it. The ID of the card is (0x14E4, 0x90) I...
