Tool to sync a folder between retro and modern computer, using serial/WIFI modem connection?

Can you describe a bit more how you use FreeFileSync with your classic Macs? Does it require a TCP/IP stack running on the old Macs?

Tool to sync a folder between retro and modern computer, using serial/WIFI modem connection?

Ah... AppleTalk Remote Access. I vaguely remember that.  manual for 3.0: https://vintageapple.org/macbooks/pdf/AppleTalk_Remote_Access_3.0_Users_Manual_199x.pdf Links to what I think are older versions: https://macgui.com/downloads/?cat_id=234 ------- Apple Remote Access 3.0...

Tool to sync a folder between retro and modern computer, using serial/WIFI modem connection?

I'd like to have a watched directory on my modern Mac, and on my Mac Plus, which syncs itself with very little effort from me. (Given non-multitasking nature of the Plus/OS 6, I think user will have to take the action of starting the sync tool and letting it run; not sure how well it will...

New CPU Accelerator options for 68K Macs?

For why more speed on B/W Macs, I would say:  development (THINK C, etc.) general system snappiness. Try using miniVmac at like 4x speed, then a mac 128/512/plus/classic for general tasks. You'll notice a big usability difference. (not speed, but memory): having more than 4MB would be...

New CPU Accelerator options for 68K Macs?

---- https://amitopia.com/the-big-box-amiga-vampire-68080-accelerator-guide/ If it makes you feel better, I'll trade you your A3000 or A4000 for an A2000 with a vampire :)

New CPU Accelerator options for 68K Macs?

Well, neat!  Not that I want to manage a rasberry pi inside a compact mac case, but gotta love it.

New CPU Accelerator options for 68K Macs?

I'm not entirely sure, but I *think* that's basically an entire Amiga on a Raspberry PI. It has an image of the OS and it's also generating its own video. This is the first I've heard about it, so I could easily be wrong though.  I'm not saying I would say no to a similar mac project, if it fit...

System 6 extension/control panel to modify keyboard input?

That's a good question. I guess my assumption is that WaitNextEvent has GetNextEvent in its own call chain. But another possibility is that the very few apps I tested with hadn't been written with WaitNextEvent, but were still doing GetNextEvent. Seems unlikely, but I suppose it's possible.

    Information on ?

Oops. I meant to fill in "multiMaster" in the topic name, but forgot. Not the greatest subject line in the world.

    Information on ?

I have been doing some dev on my Plus recently, with 6.0.8. One thing I miss is a DragThing type dock, or any kind of customizable launcher for my favorite apps. There are lots of choices for 7.5+, and I think even for 7.1, but I haven't found much for 6. I came across this reference to Now...

System 6 extension/control panel to modify keyboard input?

https://github.com/WartyMN/68k-mac-cursor-keys  I haven't tried anything fancy like splitting and joining resource files for the GitHub. I just threw the 28K .sit file in there with the extension, the source code, the resource file, and the Think C project file.

System 6 extension/control panel to modify keyboard input?

Ok, found a dumb bug that explained my confusion about the keycodes=charcodes.  This version de-capitalizes alpha keys too, so the idea is the user can just leave caps lock on until they need =, [, ], \.  I'll get a GitHub up soon, but I threw the source into it for now. it's a Think C 5.0...

    68k 3D Modeling Tools?

Use what Scotty uses when he uses a Mac Plus. It is a time- and whale-saving piece of software:  https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/memoryalpha/images/c/c1/Macintosh_displaying_molecular_design_for_transparent_aluminum.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120415192403&path-prefix=en

System 6 extension/control panel to modify keyboard input?

I can't believe how much time I spent today and yesterday basically trying to do one thing: move a 2K system extension from a Mac Plus over to my modern Mac so I can upload it here. ;)  Ah, well. I now have a SCSI2D and "Serial" app with a null modem connection to the Plus, so it hasn't been a...

New CPU Accelerator options for 68K Macs?

I don't see a lot of options for compact macs, especially outside of the SE-SE/30. I've always liked the compact Macs, and system 6, more than any other pre-OS X mac system. I love my Mac Pluses (when they are working), but I got a little spoiled by some custom builds of MiniVmac that start out...

System 6 extension/control panel to modify keyboard input?

Thanks Crutch, that was just what I needed. I haven't used it enough to see if there are stability issues, but it seems to be ok so far. I did notice some apps (e.g, MacWrite pre-II versions) don't do anything with the cursor actions, but I'm not 100% sure yet that they would react to real...

System 6 extension/control panel to modify keyboard input?

I'd like to make my Mac Plus more useful/pleasant-to-use. I use an original mac 128 keyboard on it, not the bigger Plus keyboard. So: no cursor keys! I have used a mac (original) keyboard on my modern macs with an adapter. I can program layers/etc and basically set up cursor keys that fire when...

Mac 128/512/Plus with 128MB RAM running at 800mhz?

Sorry, I should have posted this in the hacking forum. Could I ask to have this post closed? I recreated it in the hack forum.

New CPU Accelerator options for 68K Macs?

I have been upgrading a couple of old Amigas with accelerators. You can get new 68030s boards running at 45/50Mhz (there are actually TWO different providers I'm aware of) with gobs of memory, options for drop in and card slots, etc. You can also get a FPGA based "68080" drop in replacement CPU...
