I'm going to give FreeBSD a shot (since the sole purpose of this machine is pretty much just to route appletalk). I'll see if I can figure this out; I've never had any luck compiling from source. -

Hmm... I could have sworn I read somewhere that it did. I have a small rig with Xubuntu 7.10 and two RJ45 ethernet connections, a localtalk->ethernet bridge that does not support TCP/IP, and my SE/30 is tunneling packets under the MacIP format. Is it even possible to do what I want to do... -
