    Italian Linen Cover

They exist, I’ve bought them (at least with US style mains plugs). I believe digikey or mouser will solve your problem.

    Installing Macsbug ROM maps?

I saw that thread too. My problem though is I literally don’t know how to tell Macsbug about the ROM map file that I have downloaded. Where should I put the file and what should I name it?

    Installing Macsbug ROM maps?

Whenever I drop into Macsbug in Mini vMac, I get the unhelpful error message “The ROM symbol file could not be read due to an OS or memory error.” So I dug up an old MPW CD which has a handy folder of ROM maps for various machines, including the Mac II, which I am emulating. So … what do I do...

Patching _ExitToShell for application cleanup: any experience?

I have actually tried this from an INIT and found that, at least in 7.5.5, it seems to be impossible to patch ExitToShell at INIT time because someone (the Process Manager?) installs a patch at some later time (before launching the Finder) that simply wipes out whatever was there. (This does not...

Micron Xceed w/ Grayscale Adapter Questions

Did you adjust the pot on the CRT neck board? there is a little pot on there that de-muddies the grays quite a lot. It’s not easy to see.

Do StuffIt 5.5 archives encode the resource fork safely for transfer to a non-Mac ?

I don’t think old StuffIt archives used the resource fork for anything.

    Getting an AppleSauce

Bumping this thread. I got an AppleSauce recently on @LaPorta’s recommendation and it’s great. However … do any emulators actually currently support .moof files at present?

Do StuffIt 5.5 archives encode the resource fork safely for transfer to a non-Mac ?

Right. StuffIt 1.5.1 + MacBinary (.sit.bin) is a good solution.

Do StuffIt 5.5 archives encode the resource fork safely for transfer to a non-Mac ?

Hey, there is some big confusion in this thread between BinHex (.hqx) and MacBinary (.bin). MACBINARY and BINHEX ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS (sorry for yelling 🤪) BinHex (.hqx) turns everything into ASCII for use uploading to old BBS’es etc which only like ASCII. Similar to UUencode. It...

Floppy / Floppy Controller SWIM Issues

VSyncWait is just a tight loop that polls the ioResult of a device’s IOParamBlkRec waiting for a synchronous operation (in your case a disk write) to be completed by the driver which is running at interrupt time. So unfortunately MacsBug isn’t really telling you anything here. It’s dutifully...

Pseudo Conquest - New DayStar Badge (found in my garage)

Yeah I have no objection to people monetizing vintage imagery for (very small) profit. I have several old Mac-themed t-shirts from those websites myself. They are pretty decent quality too, and not expensive. I think most of these trademarks are effectively abandoned which I think (though I’m no...

I agree with the higher placement, and also agree I would definitely buy that t-shirt.

Metrowerks CodeWarrior Best Version and Updates

Gosh I would love it if there were a C99 compiler that runs on 68K. (There’s not, right?)

Metrowerks CodeWarrior Best Version and Updates

Am I crazy in thinking CW could never compile PPC code on a 68K Mac? I recall using CW non-Pro 1.0 and am pretty sure there were separate apps for the 68K and PPC compilers, and that the PPC compiler app was PPC-native and not fat.

Open system call failing on System 6 but working on System 7

HOpenRF (for which HOpenResFile is an alias) is supported back to the 512KE and Mac Plus. Does that give you what you need? Otherwise yes you can do what you say. I don’t normally restore the default volume (GetVol/SetVol) after changing it, curious why you think you need to do this?

Open system call failing on System 6 but working on System 7

@atommclain I am extremely interested in trying to get this to work, though time commitment is definitely an issue. I that same reply card in my book for $80, it never occurred to me to try sending it in! Brilliant. Is there a way you can share the source code? @cheesestraws — yes! There is...
