@ymk It's showing OL on this speaker, but I get a good reading on the SE speaker. Does that indicate a break in the voice coil? If it's beyond repair, is there a modern replacement with the same dimensions I could swap in? The SE speaker is fine, but it'd be nice to replace it with a speaker of...
This IIci speaker is non-functional. A known-good speaker from a SE works okay when attached. Reflowing the joints for the voice coil wires to MLB connection wires didn't help. Neither did spraying the connector with contact cleaner. The voice coil wires seem like they're attached okay. Is there...
Confirmed pin 7 of UA5 goes to ground when the button is pressed.
Checked UH6 again, UL1, ram expansion pins, RAM address and data lines.
if the traces are okay, is this likely to be Abad RAM chip or something else like UL1?
UH6 is the only one close to the leaked caps and that was...
Also, If I press the reset button when the screen with repeating columns is up, the speaker will buzz for a moment but the pattern does not change and the screen does not flicker off.
Today I recapped a Classic I analog board and MLB. The MLB got an ultrasonic clean after recapping.
Without the RAM expansion installed, it boots to a screen with thin horizontal lines, then a repeating pattern that looks a bit like columns of - — ) The fan and HD runs, but no other noises can...
So I tried with an external USB power source and it made no difference. I also tried with a couple other SE MLBs and hit the same issue. So it sounds like it might be some kind of config issue with the SCSI2SD. I might try disabling all but one ID and see what happens. Any other suggestions?
It's termination powered. I haven't tried external power yet, but haven't needed to on any other Mac. I'll give that a try though.
I'm using the external 5.5. Yes, it has a port I can connect to try it out.

Getting chime then Sad Mac 0000000F / 00000002 whenever connecting an external SCSI2SD to a Mac SE.
I've tried the following:
- Changed out the ROMs to newer FDHD versions
- Connected to external CD-ROM which worked okay
- Made sure internal HDD was set to ID0 (since the volumes of the...
Sorry I hadn't been paying attention to the thread. It's great to see additional feedback!
I updated the master, but wasn't sure how to deal with merging your fork. Please PM me and we can work on details. I definitely do not want to hold up progress, so let me know what you think would be best...
The GND connections have been fixed, but would need more info to help with the second issue. I just copied what I saw in the original drawings. If you can provide more detail and another member can help to validate that it's correct, I'm happy to integrate it.
Yeah it has a heat sink. I just took it off to try to determine the processor model. I did try setting the switches to 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 - 9 ,1 2 but got the same result. I hope the processor isn't toast.
@ttbthanks for catching those issues. I've corrected them all and updated them on GitHub. I'm new to GitHub so hopefully I updated and merged correctly. Please let me know if you see other issues.

BTW, I'm not surprised about the IOR/IDR thing. The...
The recap on this LC went OK (no lifted pads), but video is distorted. The area around all the caps was thoroughly scrubbed with IPA several times. I also removed and cleaned underneath the ICs near the cluster of caps near the audio I/O.
Removing the extra VRAM/DRAM doesn't change the...
Found more info. I lifted up the foam around the processor and found it's a "PPC750L-EB0A466". I'm assuming that means it's a G3 466MHz processor.
If that's the case the dip switches on the card seem very wrong.
Pic below of the current settings and a table of settings from the manual. It...
