Hi all, I'm restoring a 128k with a Levco Monster Mac board in it. I cleaned everything up, serviced the floppy, and replaced a burnt plug on the analog board, along with a burnt Rifa cap. Everything seems to work but I'm getting these weird staticky artifacts on the screen. Has anyone seen...
Trying to figure out the best way to fix this. Any advice? Maybe superglue it down before soldering from the back?
And what's up with the resistor attached to the capacitor? I'm gonna recap anyway if I can fix the janky connector but I thought it was kinda weird.
I'm restoring a couple iMac Indigos and when I installed Mech Warrior 2 on the first one my speakers blew out. I figured well they are 25 years old. On my second one, I checked the speakers with a bunch of games and they were fine, and when I booted up Mech Warrior 2 my speakers blew out again...
I have a Quantum ProDrive 250MB in one of my Mac IIcis and I want to hook up the LED activity light. Does anyone know if this (J2) is the LED terminal? Also, what is this connector type called? I did some searching but I don't know the name of the connector to buy for the LED connection.
I have a Mac II with an upgraded PMMU and 20MBs of RAM. I pulled it out of my display cabinet to replace the soldered on batteries with a battery holder and noticed a resistor soldered in the J2 position. Does anyone know what that's for? Here's some pics:
I pulled out a spare LCII board I had to see if it worked and it chimes and boots fine but it squeals from the speaker. When I push and pull on the speaker connector the pitch goes up and down. Attached is a video. Any ideas?
I have 2 LCIIs I'm working on. One is not recapped and boots fine, the other one was leaking so I didn't try to boot it before recapping. After cleaning the board and recapping and cleaning again, I get no chime and black screen. The fan runs and I can hear the hard drive working. I swapped in...
I'm running 6.0.8 with 4MB RAM. It says there is a problem with allocation because there is 10366 high bytes used. What does that even mean?
I'm running a pretty sparse system folder. I swear I played this game on this very Mac when it was new 37 years ago. Yep, it's the same Mac Plus I bought...
I have an SE/30 that had been converted from an SE. I'm assuming the chassis was upgraded as well to accomodate a PDS card. Unfortunately, the part of the chassis that allows for a bracket to be attached aligning with the windowed opening on the back of the Mac is not there. I can't take the one...
I need to buy a few of them and don't know what to search for. I've tried "2 prong led cable", "2 prong led cable motherboard", "2 prong led cable logicboard" and I'm not seeing this cable. I'm making some battery blanks to hook up to Ron's Remote Battery card.
Mine doesn't have any formatting or system tools on it. Fine for playing a few games but not so great as a diagnostic tool or old Mac prep tool.

I'm restoring my SE/30 that was an SE conversion and the fan is super noisy. I pulled a quiet fan out of an SE parts machine but I discovered that the noisy fan has wires and the other one has 2 terminals sticking out the back. It looks like the analog board has a place to solder in a fan with...
I'm trying to adjust the alignment on my SE/30 monitor and having a hard time finding the 2.5mm nylon hex key that fits in the monitor adjustment pots on the analog board. Anyone know where they are available? I see the kits on Amazon but they don't appear to a have a hex key and that's really...
I have a Mac IIci that was having sound issues (really quiet, could hardly hear it) so I recapped it last night (while watching Mac84's live cast). Today I put it back together with only four 1 MB chips in bank A and left out the cache card and battery and left the top off the case.
I hooked it...
Any ideas?
I didn't replace the axials because they still look good.
I have a working SE, can I put the SE/30 board in the SE to see if it works there? Are they interchangeable?
I've tried an Adaptec AFW-4300 and an IOGear GIC430F and neither work. I've tried Firewire enabler 2.33, 2.4, 2.5 and 2.8.3.
The System Profiler sees the card and Card Type, Model and Vendor ID are displayed but Card Model and ROM# are not.
The IOGear says it's compatible with OS 8.6 and a Blue...
I have 2 iLamps, one 700mhz and one 800mhz. Both of them have a dark spot in the same place about 4cm from the bottom right of the screen. Does anyone know what causes this? Any fixes? Maybe something pushing on it from behind? I've seen it in other iLamps too.
I don't really know what to call this thing but it's glued to the inside of the iMac G4 bottom case cover. It seems to be made of some sort of silicone or teflon or something soapy feeling. Anyway, this thing pretty much disintegrated on one of my iMacs. I want to replace it because it's a...
