I have an se/30 that will chime show a gray screen but no mouse cursor. it has been recapped, and I checked all connections from the ADB chip and they are good. Any idea of where I should look next? Is there a good sequence list somewhere of the order it tries to check things during boot? Also...
Does anyone have a ez135 drive they can push the door open and take a picture of the heads? I recently bought one in unknown condition but looking inside it looks like mine only has a bottom head still, I'm not sure what happened to the top one but I cant see it in there. I'd appreciate any help.
Sounds good, just wanted to make sure there wasn't some secret way to get the disk out. its burned so i don't care if i damage it. Anyone know if the late model iMacs will boot off a firewire dvd drive?
Any tips on extracting a cd from a slot load iMac? It seems to not be able to grip the disk to eject it. or read it for that matter... But for now ill settle for not having the disk in there.

im pretty close. I just want to double check some details. i found an ok picture online but id still like a close up if anyone is able. ill post my results when im done tweaking.
Can someone post some decent pictures of the button door on a 17" multiple scan? mine is missing one, and I can get close guesstimating what it looked like id like some nice pictures to make as close a replacement as I can.
You don't need to take the door off I just want to see what it looks...

based on the previous conversation here, I don't have as high as hopes as you do.
sorry if its cynical, but its what appears to be currently happening. From "closed permanently" to site...
Picked up an se/30, was hoping it just needed a recap. nope. Maxell strikes again. Im going to try and fix it, it doesnt look toooooo bad. I mean its already broken I might as well try. Looks like minimum ill be needing to replace my RTC chip. I might even have the right PIC on hand. If the rom...
