Sorry for the late reply, a bit far from me. as i realize the originals would be as well. (I'm in the us.) and shipping would probably double or triple the cost of the board.
Got it. Used my other 2300c with a crap screen to make one of its diskutil boot disks. Then replaced all the included programs with disk editor. Worked a treat, Thanks again.
Just picked up a 2300c and it chimes and starts booting. Shows the happy Mac for a second then this password window. Curious what software was doing this.
Yeah, I got a set of the chips mentioned above but I haven't had time to get soldering done. The reloaded board I have left over is for another much worse gone machine.
Yeah I saw stuff pointing to the same stuff. But then I have people saying like oh the adb even if it doesn't work you'll get...
I thought that was before the chime, but thats a fair point I have other ram I can try. although it also gets stuck the same on my rominator which I believe skips the ram check.
Yeah, but it does at least do stuff and draw the screen properly and clearly. ordered some new chips to replace those guys suggested. ill report back when i get them in and get around to swapping them.
Isn't that just junk in the vram before it gets initialized? you normally don't see it when you just turn on the machine because the display isn't warmed up enough yet to make a picture.
Shrunk the image, cursor definately not hiding. I have also noticed that if i press the debug button i get dumped to a sad mac with 0000000F 0000000D. Ill take a look at UF8 and the LS166 next to it next.
I guess that an interesting point. I’ll try adjusting down the screen width to see if it’s just hiding. I swapped with a rominator ii and it was the same. Happy chime and then this. No hdd or fdd connected.
No difference with replacement rom. Just a static screen. I did notice two clicks after the chime. Just like small speaker pops. I beeped out all the rom pins to the pds slot. But I’m going to check the cpu pins too to make sure.
