I went down this exact same rabbit hole a couple years ago via eBay and couldn't find a Platinum-esque subwoofer I was willing to pay the price for, I only wanted to pay something under ~$30. There was at least one model by "Advent" that I had my eye on, I think it might have been "Advent...
My 180 is tunnel vision-free! Yes siree, absolutely perfect! ...now I don't turn it on for more than 2 minutes at a time but I see no reason to believe that it is anything but perfect! (Lego Movie Unikitty voice: "is this working?")
There is some info on this isn the PB 2400 and 3400 developer notes.
There are copies here among other places.

RAM Expansion 1
The PowerBook 2400c computer accommodates one SO (small outline) DIMM for RAM expansion. The DIMM can have either 16 or 32 MB...
I have the NewerTeck 117MHz PPC upgrade (that comes with 8MB RAM) not the Apple original but I found this on Macintosh Garden:
https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macintosh-powerbook-powerpc-upgrade-the-powerbook-500-series-computer
which appears to be a CD that Apple shipped with their PB 500...
With the PPC upgrade card I think the Gestalt ID might change. The programers of that Lind utility maybe didn't account for that?
You should be able to use this to override Gestalt ID so your 540c PPC show up to the system as a standard 540c:

Some info on this general topic in the LC/Quadra 630 Developer note:
e.g, Page 17:
"The display memory contains three separate frame buffers. The first frame buffer holds the graphics data—the display that is generated by the computer. The other two frame buffers hold video data from the video...
E-machines made some combo Display+Ethernet NuBus cards, I have one in one of my IIsi's :)
E-machines Colorlink SX/t (10Base-T, twisted pair version, the one I have)
E-machines Colorlink SX/2 (10Baset-2, coax version)

Curious, does that mean for stereo it would need to connect to two serial ports (like two physical MacRecorders would to do stereo), or is there someway the serial outputs could be interleaved? ...although I suppose then it wouldn't work with the MacRecorder drivers...
I've use that one, but prefer the this one that patches the built in time change methods (General Controls control panel and a Date & Time control panel):

Sorry for the duplicate! replied at same time...
I remember reading somewhere that it has to do with the Iici having an cache controller (implemented somewhere on the logic board) and ROM that understands how to use a cache card, where the SE/30 does not. There were cache cards for the IIsi but I think that is because it shares the same cache...
My experience has been that for images that show up in the log as ok, tools like SCSI probe see the hard disk and display something like "BlueSCSI device..." and the image "HD" size, even if the image isn't bootable... Random thought, could you be using a SCSI ID for your image(s) that is in use...
Seems kinda like the IIsi mod to put 4MB on the logic board (instead of the stock 1MB). In Adrian's specific case I believe he had stolen a logic board IC that is needed to support the expansion card to fix another board.
I have one of these too, also without the cable... I did get the manual with mine, not that it has anything like a cable pinout in it. It does show what the cable looked like. It's a Y-Cable, male ABD for your Mac with a short female ADB for your keyboard and a longer "SCI" cable to the PoweKey...
I know you can still get regular ImageWriter/ImageWriter II black ribbons but see conflicting info on whether that is the case for ImageWriter LQ black ribbons? Seems like some folks say there is an C.Itoh (and/or Epson) printer(s) that used the same ribbon but can't find those models if they...
I do! ...and recall spending a lot of time figuring out a power supply for it. I don't recall where I purchased it but here's picture of the label with the specs and importantly the connector pin-out. I have vague memoir of find ones online that looked all good except one of the 5 pins was off.
