I was thinking check the connector but then you said you swapped CPU cards. ...did you also also visually check the connector PINs? its not too hard to bend the ones on CPU card side when inserting and removing the RAM cards. would be odd if you accidentally did it to both but in the realm of...
I'm not sure I'd want to alter my SE/30 this much and maybe a crazy idea but what about replacing the CRT with a modern 10? inch LCD and driving it with the 30Video VGA output? I guess that would be no different from the 30Video's prospective then driving an external VGA monitor? i.e. the...
I found a 64MB module that was only recognized as 32MB in my 4400 (in the dual banked slots). I thought I had at least one more but not finding any. Yours for shipping from VA, USA if you are interested.
On eBay these look look like they should work and are a great price IMO...
How much RAM are you looking for? I think I might have a 16MB and/or 32MB stick leftover from when I upgraded the RAM in my 4400. It took me a good while to find two 64 MB DIMMs for mine on eBay at a price I was willing to pay.
I don't think RAM from a 7200 will work in a 4400:

7200: 5- volt, 64-bit-wide, 168-pin fast-paged mode, 70 ns DIMMs.

It just came up when I manually checked an eBay saved search for "Daystar Digital", listed as "daystar digital 105013-109 33 Mhz Card 01-FC040-001". Super lucky timing I suppose as I'm sure lots of people have saved searches/alerts set up.
Thanks for the tips/pointers!
Sure. No luck so far. I don't think "PSI Integration Inc" made it to the web era to have a possibly archived website/downloads. :-/
Did find a somewhat interesting product/pricing list in Mac User Feb 92:
Been refreshing my memory, its a DayStar Digital "FastCache Quadra" L2 cache card for the 68040 PDS slot
https://archive.org/details/DayStarCatalogJuly1994/page/n5/mode/2up
Fingers crossed its not dead, but got it for only $35. Lucky me!
I seem to be hitting the jack pot on 68k L2 cache in that I think I picked up one of these Daystar "FastCache Quadra" L2 modules for cheap on eBay (after also finding one for the IIsi).
Any pointers to the QuadControl v2.3 extension download? I don't see it on Macintosh Garden.
It's labelled...
Sorry, my sarcasm to text failed here. My 180 has tunnel vision and as per what most people see its takes some number of minutes for it to affect use. My poor attempt at a joke was if I only use it for 2 minutes I can pretend it does not have tunnel vision. Guess I’m not quitting my day job for...
I think that's the reverse question, what would be some nice "matching" speakers for a 6400/6500 which has a built-in subwoofer?
As far as I know this one specific early/original version of the AppleDesign Powered Speakers are the only Apple external speakers that will work with any Mac, that...
