To enable the Ethernet port stats in the RPi Monitor homepage and statistics edit this file:
sudo pico /etc/rpimonitor/template/network.conf
Uncomment the config (remove the leading "#") from these lines:
dynamic.10.name=net_received
dynamic.10.source=/sys/class/net/eth0/statistics/rx_bytes...
This might be an odd question but thinking about this incredible project and my past experience replacing the IDE hard drive in a PowerBook 150 with a CF card got me thinking about the similarities. My understanding is Apple essentially implemented an IDE (ATA) controller on the 68030 bus but I...
Thank you so much for this! I have used the heck out of my MacIPRpi 5, it's essentially become the hub of all my retro computing activities on my home network since I set it up in 2021. Low power always on bridge machine/retro file server, print server, browser proxy, and even bench "PC" next to...
The Macintosh TV might appear very similar in specs to the Performa 550 but it's my understanding that they have very different logic board architectures. The Macintosh TV having more in common with the LC II, Color Classic and/or Performa 600 (16 bit data bus with lower RAM ceiling, 16MHz IO...
A Greenville/Canopus ADVC-55 would be nice for this, fairly compact, composite/s-video capture to Firewire DV out. No drivers required on your Mac. Unfortunately it looks like they aren't cheap when they come up on eBay...

So cool! I do remember seeing these demos in stores (Computer City, CompUSA, Sears?), as I recall there was also coordinated info signage attached to the monitors.
I wonder if there are marketing CD-ROMs out there that have demos for more machines?
I think it looks like that since you are using an enabler meant for a Perfoma model that would have shipped with a "P" version of System 7.1, booting up my Performa 575 with its stock System 7.1P6 installed the About This Macintosh screen looks like this:
I *think* the previous "P" versions...
Perhaps the difference has to do with there being two SCSI controllers when docked. The one on the Duo logic board apparently is only used for its internal hard disk, the Duo Dock has a separate "external" SCSI controller. When docked it seems there is more going on in the ROM routines...
Hmm, could that icon be representing the Duo Dock floppy disk drive? I don't recall when machine specific floppy disk drive icons are used but I know they exist and are particularly interesting for Macs that support multiple floppy drives.
Sorry if you already stated, but if you don't have a...
Apple apparently used Adobe tech to be able ship it with only 2MB of RAM, I guess HP didn't like this approach for their competing product. Apple cost savings, to get them the profit margin they wanted?
From the Apple LaserWriter 4/600 PS Developer note:
The LaserWriter 4/600 PS printer has...
I much prefer System 7.1 on an SE/30 to 7.5 (and up), it just feels more responsive. You can disable a lot of the extensions and control panels in 7.5 that I think lead to some of this but at that point why not just run System 7.1? I do add BeHierarchic and SuperClock! as having a hierarchical...
I bought that one! I haven't tried to rebuild a Duo battery yet but thought it might be useful if it I did. Its also a nice paper weight ;-)
Here's a quick flat bed scan with a ruler in case that's helpful:
I'm still using a couple of the last Airport Extreme APs (2013, 6th generation, 802.11ac) for my home network, they pass AppleTalk just fine, WiFi to/from Ethernet as well as Ethernet off the main unit to Ethernet of the 2nd unit. I even have an older 3rd gen that I sometimes bring up to bridge...
