Powerbook Duo 280c + Accessories Maintenance

Is the PRAM battery the same Panasonic rechargeable thing as in the 1xx series ?

The Unitron 1024 Revealed! Can we emulate it?

Holly shit. Hope this get somewhere. Nice work. Is there a ROM dump somewhere so we can compare with @bigmessowires ROM disassembly ?

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

Ha, not sure if you want/can cancel the order and wait for the next PCB revision (the one with selectable ESC+DEL and PGUP+PGDN) block. Although knowing my todo list, there may be a "few" weeks of delays :)

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

That's not how it works  . I always give my remaining PCBs, so sure for one PCB it's expensive but still less than building more keyboards :)

PowerMac 7100 ATX Adapter - PSU shutting down quickly

Does the PSU stay on by itself ? (No load / no logic board / nothing) The other thing to try is to force the PSU on, and see if the Mac keeps running. That may be a fault on the 7100 side (either soft power, or a short, or something). BTW the caps on theses are just falling as bad as 68k ones

TashPad: Super Nintendo to Gravis GamePad ADB Converter

As @Tashtari said, we don't mind as long as the license is respected. It's nice that you had fun with this, also nice soldering skills! That's exactly the way :)

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

I tried that unfortunately it doesn't work. While replacing the footprints and rerouting would only take a few hours, the issue is that ALPS switches are rectangle and slightly bigger than cherry switches, so they will not clear the plate They require a PCB mount keyboard or a dedicated ALPS plate.

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

Damn, sorry forgot about that damn plate  It seems there is still a way. We got lucky with the traces, so remove only PGUP+PGDN switches and cut the top traces from there, then add one wire to fix Y7 (return / backspace). Here is a schematic for you As for DEL, it's X14 and Y6 - X14 is...

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

Well it's just a matter of wiring the switch where it's supposed to be in the keyboard matrix. On the Design68, the X pin is the "top right" on a switch, Y being the bottom left. (As seen from above the keyboard) For ESC you do need a switch between X17 and Y2. - X17 available keys are TAB and...

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

That's a good question. Are you willing to cut traces and use a couple of bodge wires to the controller pins ? (It's possible to use an extra switch for testing before messing with the PCB)

    A thread for RackMacs

Nice job :) Liking the SCA HDD! Looks like an onboard switch bottom left. I'm assuming that's for switching between the LC Ethernet and the BMC ? Power Supply on the LC board looks bluetooth tho ?

G5 Death? Another one bites the dust?

Damn that's interesting! I only had logic board failures (but that was a decade ago). Does the power supply power up by itself if you trickle it ? (when the caps are dead)

G5 Death? Another one bites the dust?

Sounds like logic board / processor. Most of them die like this nowadays. You gave it a good life.

    Macintosh SE/30 M5119 - Restoration

If you want something out of Digikey / Mouser, look for Aries 128-PGM13039-10. They are not cheap either. As @croissantking said, CPU insertion / removal will be harder but it's decent enough with the Aries (if the CPU pins are clean)

It's rechargeable. Panasonic VL2330-1HFE is a compatible replacement IIRC. I'm waiting for mine to test that

@max1zzz Since 72 pin isn't possible, I would rather prefer a custom RAM board with brand new connectors than dodgy reclaimed 30 pin sockets. IDC like connectors seems doable and period-correct, so… If the RAM board has open source gerbers or you do provide them, it's not really an issue imho...
