Only the W65C22N, the W65C22S is still produced in PLCC form (for now). I've tested one in a 512ke bench board, it works fine except reading the 1Hz tick from the RTC. It isn't behaving as expected. Think it's juste one pull-up away but didn't had time to test it
Don't have any SE/30 bench...
Looks like a fine list for me. Pretty sure I used 1/4W resistors with values close enough (like 6.8kΩ or 7.5kΩ should work fine). 12V rails are actually overkill in modern PSUs, it's the -12V that's sometimes missing.
You can split the +12V in whatever arrangement you want, it should work fine.
First congratulation for your build. Interesting about the issue, this is the first time someone had an issue with controllers compatibility. Like @sfiera said, there is a few differences with PAL and NTSC controllers. Maybe some Nintendo specialist can chime in
TashPad only pull Latch with a...
No idea where the issues lies, but you I can help you check the basic signals
Check "clock" signal continuity like this (page 5)
- CL1 should be in the kHz range, probably around 12 kHz ( short pulses, may be off by a factor or 2-4 depending on LCD model )
- CL2 should be around 1.9 MHz ( about...
Very insignful thank you! Looked a lot of them and didn't find anything really major. Guess the biggest difference is between
Found a dead 820-0615-A over here and it has the ASCO sound chip whereas yours are the CS4216 one. Reading through both data sheets, it seems that there they do have...
That crossed my mind, except they used the ASCO Codec in the later revision, which is the IC that was "caned". Fair enough on the first part.
Could it be an US vs EU production as well ? I've always got hand on rev A boards over here. What do you guys have on the other side of the pond ...
Hello,
This thread is mostly documentation. While probing on my lab board, I noticed that there is multiple revisions of boards around with major differences.
Is this something known ?
Having some minor revisions around is a common thing, but there it seems that there is a lot more going on in...
It has its own "line" but it's really the common ADB data line. Has nothing to do with the keyboard matrix. The trackball is basically the same as a mouse but upside down in this series
Is it visible with ADB parser or equivalent ?
Following this closely as I've tried the SRAM + memory hole punch before and failed
Already learned a lot as usual.
I hope you will be successful in your build
Found this while looking for something else: the PB140-460 connector (60 pin one) is still manufactured, although it's a revised design (extra metal clip). Unfortunately this design isn't available in 72 pins.
Reference is TE Connectivity 2-111196-2. It even still has the old AMP logo from the...
Hello,
From having replicated the MacSnap SCSI with the help of a few other members here, I can tell you this thing is very sensitive, either by its design or the old ROM sockets.
First the broken pin isn't an issue, it isn't connected to anything. All of the boards are like this
Second...
Tim & Dart based PowerBooks do not get to the floppy icon if the HDD is dead and is blocking the SCSI bus, they are stuck at the gray screen
Pretty sure the 170 with display the floppy icon if you remove the HDD. Also the logic boards are fully solid, no need to recap theses
Got it. That's an old unsupported mode which doesn't work anymore due to Bluetooth security updates. It never worked with MacOS. I think you are the first person to use it.
With 1.4.4 you can try with the pin 484848, it worked on Windows 10 back then
Always nice to have options, good job!
Yeah it's kinda short but sufficient enough if the mouse is near the Mac. Can always use a straight serial cable as an extender
