I'm actually planning to rework my downloads page to hopefully make it easier for people to setup the different devices that are now available. Originally when I made the page the main solution was SCSI2SD, the new options are far easier to use and I need to redo my image files to support their...
I think I know what the problem is. I have two types of images on my site: volume images and drive images.
sillyTinySCSI I believe only works with drive images.
MiniVmac only works with works with volume images
Basilisk II works with both volume images AND drive images.
my download page...
Hi RudyRoo, I'm Steve from the savagetaylor site
On the images on my site, you should find the folder: Setup and Repair, in there are the applications for adding under mini-vMac
See my guide at: https://www.savagetaylor.com/2020/12/30/using-mini-vmac-to-edit-my-68k-volume-image-files/
I've been going through the Inside Apple and related books and found a listing of other apple publications including the 1996 Sex, Lies, and Video Games: How to Write a Macintosh Arcade Game
Perhaps it would be useful. Or one of the other game related books in the developer catalog
There is also the old tech notes and QAs https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/navigation/. Search under sound and sort by date
E.g. https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/technotes/tb/tb_565.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/DTS10002806
"Inside Macintosh Volume VI contains the...
Have you read the develop articles on sound and music? They might be useful https://www.savagetaylor.com/2024/02/09/apples-develop-the-apple-technical-journal/
Finally found a mention of the external power supply in an advertisement, but nothing about what it's specs are. Hopefully someone has one of these, or I'll just have to risk a purchase and try.
I recently picked up a collection of external APS enclosures missing their power adapters. They use 5-pin mini-din connectors.
Unfortunately the enclosures don't say much other than 90-240 VAC 50-60Hz.
I tried looking through the apstech.com site on the way back machine but didn't find any...
I'm putting together a post for my site listing common issues with 1980s and 1990s Macintosh systems. I grouped them in to 4 main categories: will not start, starts but has a blank screen, starts and displays an error code, starts and displays a blinking question mark.
For the first category...
Thanks Phipli, I looked at this site before and there were so many broken links I gave up. I'll update the links on my accelerator page to the page you found
Would it be possible to upload this CD? I found the 1992 version, and I'm hoping that the 1995 version has a copy of Apple's Technical Information Library on it. I'm trying to track down the 1994 version of Tech Info Library Article Number: 14724.
Going through my collection of Apple Information CDs (physical and images found online).
Some interesting finds so far:
The 1992 Technical Information Source (TIS) version 3.0 contains copies of System Tools 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 as 400k image files, and also has international installation files for...
When it is turned on the extension at the front of the case is too recessed for the case's button to reach.
I currently can only turn this on and off with the case off
