    Virtual modem

True, I was more concerned about the Macintosh being a point of entry in to the rest of the network

    Virtual modem

Risk is probably low, I doubt many of the modern automated attack programs would even know what to do with a classic mac if they came across one

So you just used port forwarding? I had cyber security concerns with doing that, but hadn't looked in to it much yet.

Quadra 950 — Maximum bootable partition offset

I've never seen anything documented about an offset limit...what I gave noticed is issues with too many partitions (more than 12). When you say, "before that there are some A/UX partitions", how many do you mean? There may also be a limit we don't know about, we a blowing well past the...

    Virtual modem

I assumed a VPN connection between networks at the hardware level so the two macs on the two networks could see each other via TCP/IP with AppleTalk over TCP/IP running on top of that. Another option could be using Basilisk II running on a modern system as a bridge. Modern system connects to...

    Virtual modem

The games don't need to be TCP/IP aware, I was referring to using the AppleTalk/IP Wide Area Extension so the OS deals with the AppleTalk tunnel over TCP/IP. After that is setup the games should be able to connect over AppleTalk as if they are on the same Local talk network The AppleTalk/IP...

    Virtual modem

Do you have to emulate a modem connection for the games? If you can get a VPN connection going between the two networks so that the two Macintosh systems can see each other via a TCP/IP connection, you should be able to setup AppleTalk over TCP/IP between the two. I would assume most Macintosh...

    Virtual modem

Good memory. I used a null modem cable to link an SE to my windows PC. But it sounds like @opualuan wants to bridge across the Internet. Unless there is some way for both to connect to the same modern system and ARA server could link the two into one network...

I was looking in the Read Me file for disk 1 for the Market Software Restoration CDs and it mentions the Apple Restoration CD User's Guide. Do you happen to have that in your collection too?

    Restoration CD for market software

So, the Volume 6 software for the 640 DOS includes a PC Drive images with DOS, Windows and the SB drivers. I assume DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1 since that is what it shipped with initially. Finally a copy of this directly from an Apple CD. The PC Drive image isn't mentioned in the readme...

JSON parser lib for Mac OS?

I guess I should also mention the obvious, before someone else does, using eval this way isn't secure so only use it if you can ensure that the JSON text will only be provided by a trusted source.

JSON parser lib for Mac OS?

It depends what you want to do. At it's most basic all you need to use is JavaScript's "eval" function to convert a JSON text string containing data structures back in to objects and arrays. var jsonString = '{"firstName":"John","lastName":"Smith"}'; var obj = eval('(' + jsonString + ')'); //...

Anyone have a Powerbook 100 and a Floppy Emu?

I update the html version of the TIL document to show your findings, and direct people to this discussion and your GitHub. I'm going to try to do the same for other articles if we find they are incomplete or incorrect. The PDF versions will be a pain though.

Anyone have a Powerbook 100 and a Floppy Emu?

Interesting, another example of Apple's TIL articles about their own hardware being wrong.

The Macintosh portable does, but no mention of the PowerBook 100 https://savagetaylor.com/TIL/TA40360.html, and https://www.savagetaylor.com/TIL/TA44724.html

    Brainstorm Accelerator Dealer Installation Manual

Thanks for uploading this, I added a link to the manual to the brainstorm entry on my list of accelerators. I also found pictures with the Dealer Installation Manual 3.0, but I haven't found a copy yet. Ben Burch posted in the comments of my site that he had one installed, I will email him...
