    Five Ibooks !

Oh and by the way, SCORE! Just one working one is worth all the rest. Try and get them all working if possible, that would be very cool and environmentally friendly.

    Five Ibooks !

If I recall the video problem was that the gpu /video chip becomes detached from the logic board in come cases. At least for G3s? Possibly this might be of some use to you? http://www.tuaw.com/2007/06/25/repair-your-ibooks-logic-board-with-a-candle/

    Apple IIgs Disk drive issues...

I assume you have at least two disk controller cards. If so, why not just use one 3.5" and one 5.25" per card?

Getting a better experience out of a 6100/60av

Interesting, sounds nicely equipped. I have a 6100/66 DOS compatible with a 500MB drive and a malfunctioning CD drive. A larger hard-drive would be better, but you'd have a hard time finding one even on ebay. If you can acquire a SCSI external hard drive or zip drive (also pretty hard, most...

Get the most out of it

I hope that means you found the ATA driver over here: http://www.kallisys.com/ It works well with my 16MB CF card and a generic CF-PCMCIA card. The newton brand cards are weird linear flash memory, whereas the driver allows the use of CF cards (which are essentially ATA compatible). Not sure...

Blue and White G3 video card flashed

Pity that, days like this, I wish i could mail a pc to somebody. Don't have the money and like my collection. I've got three computers with supposedly nearly identical intel motherboards and chipsets. Anyway, best of luck finding a pc. Ebay is a good place to look if you want one. Either go for...

Blue and White G3 video card flashed

Maybe you could load a linux live-cd, contrapt a dos emulator onto it and run the flash utility? Is that even feasible, anyone???

    Network Games for Apple II?

Some re-reading of the typed code the other produced an obvious error on my part (Go Figure, huh?!). Anyway, it does run now (user error is indeed the #1 problem). I just need to get a controller attached. I was gonna use an old analog PC joystick, but one can't get DB/DE-15 connectors anywhere...

Bringing back a 6100 to life

The HDI-45 to Macintosh Video adapter is not all that uncommon. I have one for my 6100, which has a DOS card in it. I also have a Mac-VGA adapter I use with it and an old CRT VGA monitor. It's a nice enough computer, at least compared to my LC II. It's not particularly practical, but just steal...

    Classilla 9.1

Wow, I have to congratulate them. I wish I could get it on my 6100/66, but I think it only had 16MB/32MB RAM and is currently running 7.6 which I wouldn't install over even if I had a Mac OS 8 install disc as then I'd want a 7.6 disc. It's got Netscape 4.08 and IE 4 I think. Anyone have any...

    Lisa Won't Boot. Advice?

Both futurlec.com and jameco.com claim to sell a DIP version of the Motorola 68000 (m68k) for $7 and $10 respectively. Little pricey, but it's old technology.

    Lisa Won't Boot. Advice?

What happens if you yank the ROMs altogether? Does that result in nothing at all? If you have an alternate and compatible known working power supply, then try it, otherwise messing with that might be too risky a gamble. It might be worth searching for the power supply's spec'd output and using a...

    Lisa Won't Boot. Advice?

Possible read this PDF: http://www.mjposner.com/LISA.pdf (The Apple Lisa HandbooK). The fact that the floppy is clicking suggests that it expects to boot from a disk. Is there a difference between the clicks for disk access and those to eject? If you are comfortable opening the computer, you...

    Network Games for Apple II?

Oh, so did you just wire the joystick to it? Do you have a commercial product or is it hacked together? Why no arrow keys? Anyway, the game just won't run. I've tried 'run ' and it does some disk access and then just stops. You can't exit it without hitting ctrl-reset.
