Heck, if I could get one for that price I'd go for it. Mac OS 9 is passably usable with effort for some things, Classilla is the way to go for web browsing. I've read that with enough memory, the early versions of Mac OS X work well too. For a 400MHz machine that works, $25 is probably a little...
Welcome to the forums. :) Sad to hear that old macs are hard to find in Poland, although it's hardly a surprise. :( There are plenty of them in the US, at least on eBay, for varying prices. You wouldn't probably want to buy one here either as the exchange rate for Poland -> US currency is...
Bets are good that if there's isn't a definite company logo or name and version number somewhere, it's probably the work of a hobbyist, someone with nice tools and equipment, maybe a kit maker as you suggested. There's a bunch of easily identifiable integrated circuits and they are:

Cool, pity about the LC. :( I've got an LCII with system 7.5.3 installed on it, and an old ethernet card that hates new equipment somehow. It won't work with anything that auto-negotiates or that has 100mbps. Took me forever to even get the card working (reseating the rom helped I suspect).
Score!!! Congratulations on your "new" piece of vintage technology. :) You might want to consider transferring those old files to new media and/or new formats, you never know when you might want that in the future.
Check it against this schematic: http://lisaem.sunder.net/cgi-bin/bookview2.cgi?zoom=-1?page=16?book=6?Go=Go (Lisa 1?)?

Who knows, the quantum in my LC II worked last time I tried. I suspect it got light use, but only time will tell when it will fail. As for modern hard drives I'd be inclined to stick to western digital (wd), especially since my web server is running on an old 9GB Western Digital drive. I...
Congrats. I wish my 6100 was that nice! Mine seems very close to stock, basically stock except for having 72mb of ram (probably a standard upgrade option), that and the cdrom is broken. Yours is marvelous, find a good use for it. You might try Mac OS 8 or 9 on your 6100 (if you have install...
Ah, don't let that get you down, it's worth a try at least. At least you can get some exposure to some computer history. Clean it with distilled water, not tap water, that way you won't have any conductive mineral deposits on the surface. Erasers are good for removing light to moderate...
Make sure to take some good pictures, that might help the people here get an idea what you're dealing with. Unless there is damage to the circuit, everything is probably fixable or replaceable as long as it is not some kind of custom IC (very unlikely that there any such chips in there). Don't...
Well, if you go with the Newton let me know. Most things that aren't directly processor speed or memory bound (ie simple stuff, requiring less than 25MHz/4MB) ought to work acceptably on the eMate 300.
If you're interested in Newton programming, here are some links to pages that may be worth reading:

Why not just use the bare bones arduino to handle the keyboards? It's probably a fair bit more capable than the attiny and you can program it without an additional piece of hardware.
Yeah, at this rate we'll need proxy servers to convert pages back to deprecated standards to even use the browser on computers this old. As long as there are still web servers that will still server plain text html we're good. Not like you really wanted most of that multimedia crap that shows up...
I would think the people persons involved in these projects:
http://kbdbabel.org/
http://xdb2usb.husak.com.pl/en/
Would be the best people to talk to, especially the first one. The second one is an adb-usb adapter. If adb decoding can be done, surely encoding can't be that much harder. Why...
From my limited experience I have to conclude that burn-out time is in some kind of ratio to the difficulty of the project or the inherent frustration involved. Slow progress is less painful than continual backtracking.
