Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I really appreciate that info, Elfen; I'm going to reorganize my slots accordingly, but I'm actually going to keep the Z80 card in the IIgs I think (assuming that works - I'm guessing we have no collective knowledge of that). It looks like the Grappler works fine on my IIgs but not (in Slot 1...
I was under the impression Apple wrote floppy-write drivers out of OSX after 10.4 (or 10.5, I honestly can never remember which, and 10.5 makes more sense).
The bottom of my computer's box has had the tape come off (so the bottom literally drops out). While driving to get cat food I forgot to get yesterday, I saw a box labeled "Xmas decorations" on the side of the street. Exact same model. Pretty bizarre.
Does Snow Leopard allow you to write floppies? I don't think file format is the issue. The screenshot is of a floppy in an external USB drive, not an image.
Done and done. My estimate of the hub was correct and my estimate of the pinion was 1mm. Thanks for pointing out the error of me wanting this information disclosed publicly paralel.
After I posted [i'm a law student] I was just actually thinking about how, if everyone (for instance) had 3d printers, someone would genuinely protect the value-added of their intellectual property. Because on the one hand that total democratization has a tinge of self-sufficiency, but on the...
And what is the correct diameter? If you've made your own gears, you clearly have the dimensions. So let me crystalize the issue if I have been vague to this point: will you release the dimensions?
Gorgonops, you're right; I just happened to have a bunch of ADB mice that I don't specifically need. Archer, I may try that method for Amiga, if I ever get an Amiga that lacks a mouse. Or I might just try it in general, eventually. Very cool.
Thanks for the information. I'll let you know if this works. :) 30122B is the right ratio, whether or not it's the right size. I don't see those in the picture for the auction, but we'll see.
The correct picture is here:
But this is - or really should be - a pure hobbyist's market. So your analogy is one strategy - and in fairness it's sort of the strategy that led me to this point (buying too much - in the way of the IIgs lot - in hopes I could sell part of it and some of the parts I kept from my old IIgs to...
Is there any chance of getting the dimensions? The printing venture is a generous service, but for me it is not cost-effective to spend almost $10 on a part for a drive I'd planned to resell [crucially, actually, as a means of deferring the costs of an expensive lot]. I was thinking about...
Thanks. Everything was boxed; the 5.25" drive is hard to see in the background. It oddly came with a Macally Extended Keyboard box too [which I guess people were paying $70 for back in the day].
Hey the plok-plok noises on your 5300 are from the power [distribution] board, almost certainly. 3400s might take cardbus; what's the card in question? and we'd need to know a little more about your 3400c, and maybe see its motherboard.
Unless I set the horizontal basically all the way from edge to edge of the CRT, it flickers with almost a frequency-pattern, like one would expect on an oscilloscope, but I can tell/here/partially see that the machine is chugging away and that this is purely visual. There's a minor buzz, as...
ROM 3.
Also, the monitor (the hi-res monitor; i was just debugging with the color composite) makes a perturbing but basically inaudible buzzing sound. also initially the thing flickered and seemed to have no vertical hold; it's stable after adjusting the controls, but the picture is wide (if i...
Oh great; I can't edit the smiley back to b ). I think because I just recently installed a new I/O card in Slot 6, and my Disk II is in Slot 7, when the "Insta-Disk" was attempting to format (or not format), the non-existent Apple 5.25" Drive was preempting the Disk II and it was just outputing...
I was waiting to do a bunch of tests. When I broke the IIe out today, a) I couldn't get it to recognize the col expander/memory card; PR#0 had no effect (captain), so I tried both cards... neither seems to work - which concerns me as to the Aux slot/board; B) I have to test a joystick and I...
I have an MS InPort card and the Logitech one, and I was going to pull the connector off of one of them [which is self-defeating because they actually tend to sell for more than the Atari mice on eBay lol]. So because of that logic I scoured Mouser... and so then there's no reason to bother...
