Macintosh Color Classic No Sound After Recap

Do you have any idea which particular capacitors are probably at fault? I would prefer to only replace the ones that pertain to sound if I can because that would be much easier than recapping the entire board. I guess I could trace the signal lines from the amplifier chip to see which capacitors...

Macintosh IICX No Video After Recap

Even when the computer sort of worked before the recap, I did not get a chime. One of the reasons that I recapped it was to try to fix the sound, but I am not sure if it is even working at all now. What are the voltages supposed to be on the power supply connector?

Macintosh Color Classic No Sound After Recap

Thanks for the information! I will try to recap the analog board soon and see if the problem is fixed.

Macintosh Color Classic No Sound After Recap

I have not recapped the analog board yet, but I plan to do that soon. Isn't the amplifier on the logic board, though? Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the amplifier was integrated into the sound chip.

Macintosh IICX No Video After Recap

I will try to look into that this weekend. Do you have any idea why the NuBus slots would have stopped working if there is not anything bridging the pins?

Macintosh IICX No Video After Recap

My video card is good. It worked fine when I tested the system before the recap.

Macintosh IICX No Video After Recap

I just recapped my Macintosh IICX because it was having the common issue where the computer won't turn on and the power supply just clicks over and over again. Also, the sound wasn't working. After recapping the computer, the machine turns on just fine, but there is no chime and nothing is...

Macintosh Color Classic No Sound After Recap

I recently pulled my Macintosh Color Classic out of storage and found that the sound was very quiet. I could hear it if I put my ear up to the computer, but it was very faint. I did some research and found that this issue is often caused by bad capacitors, so I recapped and cleaned the board...

Value of a Radius Accelerator Card

Hello! I found a Radius Accelerator SE card in a Macintosh SE that I recently acquired like the one seen in the image attached. It contains a 68020 running at 16 megahertz and also has a 68881 FPU. The card seems to work fine, but I can't seem to find much information about it or what it is...

PowerBook 180c Floppy Drive Write Protect Issues

I recently picked up a PowerBook 180c that boots up and seems to work perfectly, with the exception of the floppy drive. It will read the floppies just fine, but the Finder always shows the disk locked icon, regardless of whether the disk is write-protected or not. I took the floppy drive out of...

    Macintosh Color Classic Sound Issue

Thanks you for your suggestion! I'll look and see if I have any capacitors lying around that will do the job after I get home from school. If not, I'll order some today or tomorrow.

    Macintosh Color Classic Sound Issue

Hello! I recently purchased a broken Color Classic off of eBay and it arrived in the mail a few days ago. The capacitors on the logic board are leaky and I ran the board through the dishwasher to get all of the goo off. After doing this, I managed to get the computer to work and I plan to recap...
