Most certainly! I ment fugly in the positive sense. :quadra: By the way, I have a strange feeling that I've seen these protos before.. Was it in some sci-fi movie? Spielberg?Alien? 2010:the year we made contact (sequel to Kubrick's 2001)? 007 Moonraker? Any idea?

DigiDesign Sound Accelerator for Mac SE/30

In the early days of digital they were mostly used for sample editing in conjunction with Emulator and later with Akai samplers. Hence the software name - "Sound Designer". SE and SE/30 were of limited expandability, so SA and AM versions for these were considered a "poor investment" by audio...

Hard disk scsi problems + more problems

Yes. It's always good to have such items around when dealing with SCSI. That one's also good: http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-50-Pin-SCSI3-Connector-Internal-Ribbon-Cable-Up-2-Drives-w-Terminator-/280758162233?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415e7d9339 Yes, if that particular Apple CD-ROM drive...

Hard disk scsi problems + more problems

Just what I thought - your internal drive is unterminated, hence the booting problems. Those three white slots under slide covers are empty. Unfortunately, IBM choose to use the strangest form factor terminator resistor networks, that I haven't seen before. Unless you can find the right ones...

    Alternative PSU for the IIsi?

Are they really that hard to get? Have you checked these suppliers? http://www.retrotechnology.com/herbs_stuff/m_parts.html http://www.recycledgoods.com/products/Apple-699-0567-IISI-Power-Supply-Sony-APS-06.html The one that I have and that looks like it came from IIsi has following specs...

    CF AztecMonsters have landed

Udo.Keller, You tested AEC-7720U vs. regular HD in SE/30 and in your G3 so far. How about repeating the same test in one of your Quadras? Q605 will do. I'd love to see how 53C96 performs under same conditions.

    Another IIci ROM hack

Yes, scope is your best friend. Yes, they're better, but not cheap, as you can see. For $0.55 per unit one can get some pretty decent low esr electrolytic, I think. That would be overkill for your project. X7R is standart for general purpose +Vcc decoupling these days, besides, NP0 caps will be...

    Another IIci ROM hack

Hmmm, indeed, 10uF... Not necesserily. It's theY5V material that's not so stellar. http://www.johansondielectrics.com/technical-notes/product-training/basics-of-ceramic-chip-capacitors.html Try to solder some regular radial 10uF paralel to your ceramic cap and see what happens.

    Another IIci ROM hack

dougg3, are you sure it is 10uF (microfarad) and not 10nF (0..01uF = 10 nanofarad) cap? I've never seen ceramic capacitor of 10uF of that small size. EDIT - if it is indeed 10uF, do you have the data sheet? I am curious which manufacturer managed to squeeze 10uF in that package.

Looking for Apple Network Software Installers prior to 1.4.4

Another lead - what are Apple's E.T.O (Essential Tools & Objects) CDs? I've never heard of them before. Google search turned up this info: Anyone have any of these from 1991 - 1994? Maybe FDDI stuff I'm looking for was on those CDs? As before, thanks to all who responded so far! ojfd

Looking for Apple Network Software Installers prior to 1.4.4

Thanks, 24bit. Can Sherlock actually look inside img files? If there's a floppy image inside that CD image, can Sherlock see contents of these as well?
