Thank You trag for Your answer. The sbproject that You mentioned before is far to complicated for me. Previous I have managed to copy Hi and Lo ROM from Macplus and 512k to EPROM using a cheap ROM programmer, Stager G540. http://www.stg51.com/english/productshow.asp? It was easy to read the...
I´m working with a 512k that was bought as defect. The 512k is now working but the keyboard is dead. Mouse is working. Noticed that the keyboard cable that was delivered with the 512k was not a keyboard cable but instead a telephone cable. se Picture

Thank You for information uniserver.
So probably the NCR chip is still working.
I used solder wick to clean the pads and aceton for the board. Solder with Pb and flux. Hope that will be sufficient for some years.
Hi, good news; the SE/30 is working perfect after replacing the SCSI chip.
You were right techknight!
After the NCR 53C80 was removed I checked all traces to the SCSI chip. From UK6, UI8, UK11 and UJ11 to UI12. From UI12 to internal SCSI connector J5. All OK. The earth and +5 V connections...
I have tried with two SCSI drives with the same result. They are not working with this logic board, but when I try with another board from a working SE/30, both SCSI drives are OK and everything is working. Same AB, PSU and cables. So the problem should be in the logic board.
After replacing...
I just realized that I tested the external floppy port with a M0130 floppy drive and that drive is not supposed to work with SE/30. Probably the external port is OK. I will replace the Bourns filter anyway.
Thank You takimoto and Elfen for supporting help
Takimoto: I tested the voltage on the external floppy connector and its 12.4 V and 4.9 V. Same result at beginning when the HD is working and later when only the internal floppy is working. Is that OK?
Elfen: I tested the Bourns filter and I...
Recently I got a SE/30 that was not working. Simasimac and no sound. After recapping and cleaning its working almost. The internal SCSI drive was not detected, the fuse F3 was blown. After replacing it the termpwr on the SCSI port is 4.7 V.
When I start the SE/30 its working perfect, booting...
Final report concerning the PSU for A IIGS and 230 V.
The original PSU (115V) is left in place. I had an old ATX PSU that was rebuilt according to Your suggestions. A negative voltage regulator was added inside the PSU ...
Thank You Bunsen and all others for very good advice. You are right, its maybe dangerous to rebuild the high voltage components in the PSU. And maybe very complicated.
In fact I have a working PSU at home from a computer thats destroyed. Its lacking the - 5 volt but I will build a voltage...
Recently I bought an Apple IIGS from US. I live in Europe and want to convert the power supply from 115 volts to 230 volts if its possible. The PSU is Astec model AA13581 , Apple no 699-0126. There is no switch inside the PSU for different voltage.
Has anybody managed in converting this PSU to...
Its working!!
Thank You techknight, You were right.
Started with recapping the board but no video. The traces to UE8 were Ok so I changed LS166 to a new one.
Everything is working perfect.
Its nice with the RasterOps to have two screens, one B/W and one in color.
Thank You all who...
Thank You all for information.
Next step will be to recap the board as techknight suggested. The fault must be in the logic board as its working perfect with another SE/30 board. I have tried to locate the defect by reading " Guide to the Macintosh Family Hardware" ...
Hi, Recently I got an Mac SE/30 that was not working. When turning on the Mac the sound is Ok and the hardrive is spinning but no video. The screen is black. A RasterOps graphic card was installed ( RasterOps 264/SE30) when I got it. When I attach an external monitor to RasterOps its working...
Thanks Mac128 , I think You found the problem. According to Apple Support my sony drive needs the ”B” ROMs. ” "-B" ROMs are only compatible with the Sony OA-D34V-22 or OA-D34V-02 drive. Earlier drives "OA-D34V" used the "-A" ROMs” http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-1539356.html

Thanks for the help but the diskdrive and cable works fine with another Mac, so the problem is on the logic board. I have tested this logic board with another Macintosh (128k) and it doesn't work.
The problem i surely in the logicboard but I cant locate it.
I tried to reseat the ROMs but no change. I have tried with both system 2.0 and 1.0. The floppy drive is working with another 512k.
The mouse is working with my defect 512K , but when I put in a floppy disk the reader starts spinning and continues to spin. The steppermotor is not moving.
I...
After some time I have continued work to get this 512k functional. I replaced the HYTEK with the Bourns 4120R-601-250/201 filter.
No change after replacement. The floppy drive is spinning but the same "happy Mac" and no booting. I checked the HYTEK filter with a resistance and capacitance...
Maybe I should replace the network filter. HYTEK 8444 RC1150002 is unknown for Google. I have seen in an earlier thread that the SE/30 has a filter as described in
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18026&hilit=bourns&start=25
I have measured the resistance between pin 2-19, 3-18 etc in my...
I have noted a difference when I use the internal or external disk.
Internal connection:
If I start the Mac first the diskette with blinking questionmark appears on the screen. When I put in the diskette the questionmark is still there but not blinking. Disk constantly spinning. If I put in...
