    Netbooting a Linux image ?

Yep it's very cool. Jessie is now installed on that Pismo, on an expansion bay hd. That is why i wanted to try this, no cd drive. Works very well , Tiger and os9 on two parts on the internal hd, and Jessy on the expansion bay. It boots on yaboot giving me choice to run os9 , X, or debian...

    Netbooting a Linux image ?

YAw ! it works :) Thks a lot, didn't even knew there was that /netboot directory on Debian servers.Indeed it just does what you say , grab the files from the /netboot. So I tried this :  open the BootMania.app warper, then make a copy of Debian40PPC.plist file that is in /Contents/Resources/...

    Netbooting a Linux image ?

Yes indeed. I've checked into the debian plist file inside the BootMania, the downloads address all leads to ".../netboot/ " end directories, so it seems they were already prepared images for netboot. Will investigate if there a way to make in linux. thks.

    Netbooting a Linux image ?

I’ve been playing with BootMania : http://vivapowerpc.blogspot.fr/2013/09/bootmania-is-now-freeware.html http://www2.tba.t-com.ne.jp/beanz/ installed on a Titanium, and by luck one mirror for downloading Nixes for making netboot images was still alive ! Managed to make a netboot image of...

    PowerBook G3 - Lombard/Pismo screen

never tried, but I don’t think it would work. Wallstreet 14" screens are Samsung LT141x2-124 (though there may have been other brands too). Pismo uses Samsung LT141X7-124. Maybe fit and connections would work but you have to be very careful cause voltage to the screen may be different...

    PowerBook G3 - Lombard/Pismo screen

Yes they are. The differences are that the Pismo screen lid assembly includes a Wifi antenna , with the wire running out under the hinge cover (the part with power button) to connect to the eventual Airport card on the left side. Also the front lid reads "Macintosh PowerBook G3" on the Lombard...

Fun with remote management: Controlling SE/30 from macOS Sierra

Hi, The launcher in System 7.5.3 is "The Tilery". Yes it's Timbuktu for Windows version 9.0.2. It's a demo, but I can't see any limitations now installed… name is "timbuktu902win_eval.zip". Googled "Timbuktu for Windows" and found that one. I installed it via PlayOnLinux, Timbuktu is not listed...

Fun with remote management: Controlling SE/30 from macOS Sierra

Timbuktu fun followup. The Windows version runs in Wine on Linux too : Here on Debian 8, connected to a BasiliskII System 7.5.3. Screen refreshing is a bit sluggish but it's usable.

    Tiger Sierra Theme

Always amazed how when someone offer his work free , people seldom says at least a polite thank you. But very often make criticisms... Thanks HFTaylor12, don't know if I will use it , but nice to see people still working on themes and goodies for the old Tiger.

Clamshell or G3 Snow Owners - Uses?

I use my Clamshells for decoration mainly : Seriously, I don't fire them up very often. But they can play old games, test old systems...ect... I have a Snow too, and I do like the small size 1024x768 screen, when the backlights works...

Ideas for Use of Mac mini G4?

Have an 1.25 Ghz. Use mine as home file/backup/Music server, with two 1Tb external hd. Works very fine, 10.5 installed. It also runs a private gopher server for my old machines to connect to. G4 Minis have low power consumption, which makes them good small servers.

I have a kanga, essentially a 3400c with a G3 proc, booting Mac OS 9.0.4 and Ubuntu 9.1.0.  Installed on a Kingspec SSD, can't remember the size right now... maybe 16GB. Edit: think it's that one : https://www.amazon.fr/KingSpec-pouces-Solid-contrôleur-SM2236/dp/B008RVYW5S Tried the same...

How about this: old hard drive sounds emulator?

That would be cool ! Actually what first missed when putting a cf card in Pismo was a small HD noise . Have no idea how to do it, for older machines , maybe yes it would need an external device like an Arduino. but for something like a more powerful, maybe it could be done internally by...

    Serial device id ?

Again playing with serial connection , this time with a Wallstreet on rhapsody to my iMac G5. Any idea what could be the serial device id on MacOS X 1.2 Rhapsody ? this is what ls /dev/tty* gives me :   bash-2.02$ ls /dev/tty* /dev/tty    /dev/ttyidb /dev/ttyp3  /dev/ttyp7  /dev/ttypb   ...
