Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

Oops! Apologies, I thought your question of being able to use adt pro was if I had the knowledge to, not if I had successfully executed it. I have it set up, but I haven’t tried it yet as unfortunately when I was pulling out the modem/terminal jumper block, I snapped a pin off ;( maybe come back...

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

I’m using the Apple Super Serial II card and yes, I can use ADT Pro. I set the card up using the manual as if it were using a printer, so SW1 is 0001011 and SW2 is 1001000 (1 is on, 0 is off)

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

I’m using this cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000067RWK/ And running ls /dev/cu.* does give me the correct /dev/cu.usbserial I’m blindly following the reddit instructions, and I don’t know the inner working of the terminal, so if Screen would work better than Getty, how would I go...

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

I’m using a 2015 intel MacBook Air running OS Monterey (version 12.7.6) because the serial to usb drivers didn’t seem to work on a newer M1 Mac.

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

Heyo, I’ve been trying to use my Apple iie as a dumb terminal by following this helpful guide on reddit () However, it just doesn’t work for me. After the last step to type in the exec::: command, the cursor just blinks and Terminal on my MacBook is unresponsive. I’m using Proterm on my Mac and...

Porting LinuxDoom to System 7 (or trying to) - progress and questions

Actually, now that I think about this, Duke Nukem 3D has also had its source code released, any possibility of that being optimized for Mac?

    AppleSoft ROM Errors

Oh! Okay, thanks. I assumed Applecillin II was a good starting point for diagnostics. Are there any programs that would be recommended for an IIe?

    AppleSoft ROM Errors

Heyo, I’m aware this may has been posted elsewhere, but I’m not sure how to describe the problem. Upon receiving my Apple IIe (Rev B), I ran Applecillin II and the Apple II Plus dealer service program, and they both seem to have errors regarding ROM F0 and F8. I assume I have to replace these...

Issues with using both DuoDrive and Floppy Emu

Issues with using both DuoDrive and Floppy Emu

Heyo, Per the subject, I’ve run into an issue using both drive peripherals. I recently bought an Apple IIe and I have my floppy emu with APTEST to check the duodrive, but it seems the duodrive and the floppy emu share the same floppy port. Is there any way around this? Unfortunately, my emu is...

    Doom on 68000 Macs?

That what I’m saying! I have no experience with coding, but it would be an interesting experiment in creativity

    Doom on 68000 Macs?

Would something like this be possible? Given the recent leak of Doom's (supposed) Mac source code, and the massive amounts of Doom ports and optimizations, I was curious as to whether this could be done (or reasons as to why it couldn't)...

Mac Plus Sad Mac Error 03FFFF

Thanks for the advice! as for progress, It's slow. I noticed that R31 (R55?) on the analog board is cracked. Assuming this is a problem, would this somehow relate to my dead Mac issues? Also is there any place to find a replacement?

Mac Plus Sad Mac Error 03FFFF

I haven't used multimeters much, so I'll tell you what I'm doing in case it's wrong. I'm following page 38, but I'm not sure what DCV position to set the multimeter at. It says 2.5, 5, 25, 125, 500,1000. Regardless, the needle isn't moving whatever I set it to (the multimeter is an analog one)...
