There was a Java compiler for the 68k - I used it in first year Uni.
It was running on an LC630 and called Symantec Cafe.
Probably required an 040 though.... :)
I voted 7.1 (mainly because it was the first Mac OS I used).
7.5.3 was a pain (7.5.5 was better).
Haven't played with 7.6.x much yet (have installed it on a PowerBook 540C).
I agree with MacJunky - the MP110 doesn't need a dongle - just connect using a standard Mac printer cable into whatever port on the Mac you are not using already (printer/modem).
If you are using the 6500, check out http://www.unna.org/view.php?/apple/connection_utils/ForMac for the connection...
I actually gave the guy $4 - what I had in the change compartment of the car. He did help me load it into the car.
The specs of the 7600 are 120MHz 604/64MB RAM/2GB HDD. The AV 1710 works well and is currently being used on the 7500/G3.
Thanks for the RAM offer - I'll let you know :)
Picked up from eBay locally for the princely sum of 99c.
The monitor is an AppleVision 1710. I will check the specs out tonight but the 7600 looks pretty stock.
Those iMacs are great - my wife still uses a Sage 450MHz iMac for all of her stuff (email, photos etc). Give it some RAM (512MB ideally) and it will be sweet.
I think I have it (and a Palm programming book) but it is at home.
I'll have a look when I get back on Thursday. From memory it is the one that allows you to develop with CodeWarrior (does this sound right?).
Also try testing the internal backup battery (silver disk).
If you had dead AA batteries and were running on backup for a while you may have drained that as well.
You can get Palm pilot keyboards working with Newtons with a special adapter (I think you can buy this or make it yourselft - there are good instructions on the web) and a special driver you can download for the Newton.
FWIW I haven't tried mine yet but there are plenty of people out there who...
Just purchased (off a MacTalk member in Perth) an Apple Newton 2000 MessagePad (upgraded to 2100 specifications).
Included in the bundle were all cables and adapters (including the AA battery tray and a functional rechargeable pack), manuals, original disks, a Silver Orinoco wireless card, a...
Nice work!
I am picking up a Newton 2000 (upgraded to 2100 specs) tonight from Mactalk as well.
Let me know if you haven't got a wireless card that works - I may have one spare.
