I have to admit it's rather speedy compared to my dual G4/450. Currently I have two 40GB hard drives in it - one with Tiger and one with Leopard. I have a 200GB and a 250GB I could use but I need to back up with is on them first.
What is the fastest dual-processor module that will work in...
I'm not a big fan of it either. The recycling center is run by the county as part of the "convenience center" - AKA a place to drop off your trash - and doesn't have a building to offer things for sale.
I'll work on the price next weekend. Considering I'm not supposed to pick up anything over 20 pounds for a couple of weeks (recovering from hernia surgery) I'm not in a rush to get it right now. It's the first time that I have seen a Quicksilver at the booth. There were some Sawtooth G4s, a...
Yesterday at the flea market I found a Quicksilver G4/867 with memory and a hard drive. I don't know the amount of memory or the size of the hard drive, only that they are installed.
They want $35 for it.
Currently I have a Sawtooth G4/450 dual processor with 1.75GB memory and I'm debating on...
I have a TrendNet-based card in mine, but I haven't used it in a while. The chipset on it is a Realtek RTL8185. While 10.4 doesn't support it out of the box Realtek has drivers for it on its web site.
Once those are installed it works quite well.
Success!
I updated the firmware, then used LeopardAssist. It took a bit longer than expected (almost an hour), but it's running Leopard now.
Currently it's installing updates.
The message is:

Edit:
I also typed in the commands listed above with the same result.
It's got the bog standard ATI Rage 128 video card in it, a Western Digital 80GB IDE hard disk, and a generic DVD+-RW drive.
As far as I know it has the most recent firmware, but I'll check again when I get home.
I was setting up my Dual Sawtooth G4/450 again and currently have MacOS 9.2.2/10.4.11 on it. Out of curiosity, I was trying to get Leopard to run on it with LeopardAssist. I managed to actually get the Leopard DVD to boot, but it KP'ed with a message that it was an unsupported system. I'll be...
Picked up an older HP Vectra. Not for the machine itself, which didn't work, but for its memory. It had 3 512MB PC133 DIMMs in it. They are now in my dual G4/450 for a total of 1.75GB. Not bad for $10!
