    I may try taking it up to system 7.5.5 (which I haven't used since my 5200 died) and using OT. A nubus ethernet card is a nice idea but I live in the UK and they rarely come up on ebay and would probably be more then I want to spend on this mac anyway considering I have an Assante adaptor already.

    I am using a localtalk cable and file sharing is on. The OS X machines are set with appletalk on and to configure automaticaly. Wondered iof it is something to do with the mactcp panel.
