    128k/512k repair questions

    Good news! Reflowing/resoldering fixed both machines. Now I have floppy woes. I have a 128k and a 512k that have broken floppy drives. When you try to put a disk in, the disk doesn't articulate down no matter how hard you press. So I took apart the 512k's drive and was able to force the...

    80 pin -> 50 pin SCSI adapter in SE/30

    It looks like the one I have has "passive" termination. So I'll have to find a way to terminate it...

    Thanks guys for the software links. The adapter came with no documentation. It came with a jumper on "ID 1" and "REM"

    SE/30 Monitor

    Do you mean burn in? Then no, there's nothing you can do, it's phosphor burn due to the extended use of the CRT. If you decided to want to replace the CRT, I have a couple spares. ;)

    80 pin -> 50 pin SCSI adapter in SE/30

    So, I have a 1gb 80 pin SCSI hard drive I wanted to use in an SE/30. So I bought an 80 pin to 50 adapter for it. However when I boot up the system with disk tools floppy, Apple HD Setup does not detect any SCSI devices. The only thing I can think is I have to mess with jumper settings. The...

    128k/512k repair questions

    Hello, I have a couple repair questions for 128k/512k machines. 1) I have 2 of these machines that show no video unless the analog board is flexed, then BAM is pops on and looks great. I assume this a solder joint issue? Any joints likely to fail so I don't have to go through them all? 2)...

    Someone has already cloned the CRT neck board, however no one has cloned the stand alone video card that is also required.

    SE/30 w/ internal greyscale & 68030 accelerator

    Thanks, I love this machine so far. The only problem I've had so far is the sound is pretty weak. Does this mean the motherboard needs new caps? Or would could it be?

    SE/30 w/ internal greyscale & 68030 accelerator

    A collector was selling his kickass SE/30 setup so I jumped at the opportunity: Micron Xceed w/ CRT adapter Diimo 50mhz 68030 card (w/o FPU) 128mb RAM 2gb HD 7.5.5 The machine is really cool, check out the pics below. I need to decrease the raster size a little bit. I've got a lead on a...

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    Awesome, thanks for the advice. Yea, after doing some research I was pretty sure I would not find a killy klip. Thanks for the pictures. Once I get my hands on a 512k, I will give this a shot for sure. Thanks! 8-)

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    Thanks, if anyone could help me with instructions, drivers, "killy klip", or anything related to this upgrade that would be awesome. I'd love to see it hooked up to a computer again. :beige:

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    Cool, does anyone know what else would be required to install this kit? I thought the 68000 chips were soldered on? I would buy a 512k just to try this out. I'm thinking this board will work with both the 128k/512k and 512ke/Plus. If you look, the Newlife board has clearance cutouts for both...

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    Yes, it is a green ground cable on the gray cable. I just noticed a label on this gray cable that says "Video A"...? It looks like the rectangular "ribbon" cable connector end of this cable could also fit on the 16 pin jumper connector on the top middle of the board. (above the yellowish...

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    That is a good point about the scsi, however see the mac plus motherboard below, it looks like everything would line up? http://www.flickr.com/photos/syl2m/3484941105/

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    The other connector is pictured, it looks like it might plug in to the lower left of the board(first pic labeled J1) and the other end is the rectangular connector type, like ribbon cables have. Do these "Killy Klips" exist somewhere?

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    No DB9 connector, just the SCSI connector and some other connector. I am pretty sure this is for a Mac Plus after looking at mobo pics online, but I am not really sure how this is hooked up, use the socket under the board or the extra connector cable. I don't have a mac plus to try it out on :-/

    Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

    Bought an Newlife Computer upgrade card on eBay out of curiousity. It is pretty cool, has a 68030 + coprocessor on board, 4 memory simms, and looks like SCSI port add-on. Looks like it is for a Mac Plus or 128k/512k. Does anyone know about these? Check it out! :beige:
