What I usually do is after the case is unscrewed, I just apply a little bit of force on the top of the case in the middle, and once the top is off, I push (lightly) on the I/O ports. I never had a separator, and this has always worked for me. Welcome to the forums, too. :)

I'm still trying to think of what big Mac project I should do this summer in my free time...maybe this will be it. Kind of jumping back and forth with an iMac 233 in a different case, learning Cocoa, and now this. I still have 23 days, 1 hour, 6 mins, and 35 seconds to decide :p

Are the CD-ROM Drives in the Lombard the same as those in the iMac 233 (tray-load)? From what I've seen, they look exactly the same, except for mounting hardware. What I'm basically asking is, if the iMac drive is removed from the actual mount and swapped with the mount thing for the Lombard...

I wish I had a Newton 2100 -- I almost got on on LEM-Swap a long time ago, but someone else grabbed it :( But I would choose a 2100 over the OMP. :)
