grayscale se/30, socketed logic board, presumably socketed 50mhz daystar uptrade.
Steal at $500 BIN. The socketed CPU upgrades for the se/30 are rarer than...
Whenever I am bidding on a rare or high ticket item on ebay I always use esnipe to place my bid in the last 3 seconds of the auction:

It works quite well.
What is a Plus ED? Oh, the SE SuperDrive is not that rare, I see them on e-bay a lot, most sellers don't know that it is an FDHD and sell it as a standard SE.
Do you need the schematic for the gs adapter? I think I can find a copy of that if you need it. The lack of info here about the xceed grayscale setup is because of how rare and expensive it is.
The SE/30 is still faster, because the classic II is limited by a 16-bit system bus, the SE/30 is full 32-bit. Not to mention, it has an FPU standard. The classic II does support one, but they go in the expansion slot and are somewhat hard to find -- and even with one the se/30 is still faster...
I would personally say no, judging by mine. But then again, I can't solder worth a damn, so take that with a grain of salt. If I have time I will disassemble my SE/30 and take some pictures of the cable.
That is indeed the grayscale setup you've got there. But it won't do you much good if you don't have the special cable for it, which is not included in the pictures. If you don't have it, hunt down the SE/30 those cards came from -- it's probably still inside of it.
No, they support them fine. It was when used with a Turbo040 that they did not work with 1.4mb floppies, however, nobody but JDW had that problem, which means it must have been an oddity with either the logic board, or the Turbo040.
Tyler, yes I agree! Best compact ever! Also, I have spoken with Manabu about the Turbo601 and SE/30 compatibility. He said it will not work at all. Period. He didn't say anything about a non-stock ROM, though.
When used in an SE/30, the only difference between a IIfx and IIsi rom simm is that when you use the IIsi rom, it will boot up right away as normal when you power on the se/30. When you use the IIfx rom simm, when you do a cold boot, you will get garbage on the screen for about 25 seconds (give...
I finally got one. The last things I need to get my SE/30 back up and running are:
-a logic board recap, and
-one of the mouse systems 3-button optical adb mice.
Once I get these final things taken care of, I think that I will have one of most, if not the most desirable SE/30 setups to ever...
It's great that it's finally back online, but it is extremely bad news about the last 3 1/2 years worth of members, posts and threads being lost.
In less than just a year, myself, JDW, and others made huge strides in figuring out kinks with and discussing problems and possible solutions with...
