If it's the core2duo or coreduo whites, yes they are. I can confirm that. My mom's is and people talked about the coreduo being upgradeable by dropping a core2duo into it.
2006 was intel. early 2006 they had coreduo, mid-late 2006 (my mom's) was core2duo. I know this as the last G5 was 2005. And they didn't ship with 1GB RAM, nor BT/AP/SD standard.
I believe the options for 2006 if mid-late 2006 would've been 1.83Ghz/2.0Ghz
G5's were 1.6/1.8/2.1ghz I think...
That's not SCSI. That's PCI Express 1-lane. Send it back as it will only work with a PCI Express. It is probably based on the USB 2.0 specs or has a SATA/ATA controller on it.
That will not work with a powerbook as there is no physical SCSI interface on it and it was made mostly for laptops...
I wish I could've scored the tower, board and 4 (yes 4) 1.2Ghz Pentium III Xeon CPU setup my aunt had for her business.
Her machine was a complete video editing system a full ATX board with 4* 1.2Ghz Xeon CPUs, 2048MB PC-133 ECC RAM, 6x 32GB 15k RPM Ultra-160 SCSI Drives on a real hardware RAID...
Thanks, now I gotta get my body clock setup. I have to be in to work by 2AM CST6CDT (GMT-6 for all of you) and work till 10:30AM that morning. So as soon as I get home, I am going to have to sleep. either way, I think I will have fun at the job. I filled out the paper work so I should be...
and the good news. I got the job, albeit at 50 cents less an hour than was quoted ($16.50 instead of $17).
Still I am happy. I can't wait to start the job
I am in the midst of moving out (took several boxes to the new places today) will be doing more tomorrow and the big stuff (dresser, bed, etc...) on wednesday which I have recruited my friend (which I have helped him move last week) to help with the heavy lifting.
The new place will be ready...
due to a change I am going through in life (and a turning point into being a free person) I am moving out suddenly from where I am, have a nice job lined up, except I am having to leave 3/4ths of my stuff behind. Not a light decision, but I was unable to sell some of it, I don't have time to...
Keep in mind that I think the ROM is on the CPU card, not the logic board. Hence one of the reasons people who did upgrades wanted the old cards sent in. So it may just be the processor module if it is the ROM. I could've sworn (and I made a topic on it) that the logic-board was just the PCI...
After reinstalling my PM 6500 I realized something a little too late. My floppy disk with the sonnet L2 G3 card was corrupt, and not just corrupt, irrecoverably corrupt. And worse yet, I found out that Sonnet pulled their drivers from their site.
After spending half a night search archives...
I lost the name after shutting down my forum and then someone did a take over of the URL. I was unable to get it back, but somehow a transfer of the URL was basically stolen from me and I didn't know it.
btw, there has been recent incidents where people from countries are initiating...

I want to direct this @ Cosmo
Apple had a recall (well sony did) about sony battery cells exploding/warping/setting on fire due to defect. At that time, a lot of manufactures of laptops did recalls because the sony cells were going back, and could possibly set on fire. I believe it was the...
So I scored some recent conquests, some mac related, some not (or barely)
I recently won a pair of 74GB WD Raptor (10k RPM 8MB Cache) drives off ebay and I bought a new Sandisk 120GB SSD (btw, OCZ seems to have fixed their issues with the Vertex Plus/2 series of drives lately if people saw my...
Keep in mind that they test sequential. The issue with hard drives over solid state is the latency as it moves from one physical area, having to reposition the head, then wait for the data to come under the head, read it, then track to another if the sequential block doesn't contain the data it...
I have a video going up on youtube of it booting the system. I set the baud rate at 9600 and I will post a link to the debian article I used to setup the port on debian. I ran into a snag on the new ubuntu which has disabled the serial output for TTY/Console which made me abandon the ubuntu...
and this is how you do it! This is so wicked. I am tying this post from the Apple //e right now. To prove it in a few minutes I will be posting the picture of this post. I had the minor snafu when I forgot to set the terminal emulation on the Apple II to VT220 (the linux box was already set)...
