$100 - Apple LED Display Port Cinema 27" Display

Found at goodbytes. $100. Will post pics later. Apple is selling the same display for $999 I got it untested (they didn't have a compatible machine to test). I will give it to my mom if it works for her new-ish Mac Mini (Mid-2011)

    Weller Soldering Station

Just like the one that was stolen out of my honda. Those are nice soldering station. Looking around ebay, it seems the head units die on those. I am not sure if it's the transformer or what, but I just found a bunch of dead ones. i am looking at replacing the one I lost with a hakko. I have a...

    LC630 overclocking 33->40MHz success

Oops disregard that. The 6100 is a power mac and I believe uses Nubus for the PC Compatibility card (or rather the PDS I think. I can't remember if the 6100 replaced the 610's PDS with NuBus and right-angle adapter. All I had was the Centris 610 a long time ago)

Most likely the Performa 631CD is your best bet. That's pretty close. It should fit into the CPU socket

12" PowerBook G4 Slows To A Crawl In Leopard

I third on the hard drive. My reasoning: I had a toshiba laptop come to me. The system was unbearably slow. Windows 7 took over 45 minutes to boot. I tried to reload, all the same. Did some Diagnostics on the hard drive: Failed. Thousands of read/write errors. Toshiba drive dead (I have...

PowerMac G5 Dual 2.3Ghz (Non Dual Core)

Thanks TheEisenfaust. I will probably be by my old haunt next monday (got parts coming in). I will stop by to get it. Anyways, Hrududu, how was the performance on your dual 2.0? I just thought I would ask you since you have a better idea of the performance on a dual 2.3 than anyone else...

PowerMac G5 Dual 2.3Ghz (Non Dual Core)

I went to do a job for a customer at her home office and while doing work she handed me a G5. She was unsure what to do with it. I wasn't sure about the specs and I was kind of apprehensive about taking it (not very fond of G5s). I ended up taking it though. The specs are: 2x 2.3Ghz G5...

Finally bit the bullet and bought one.

Back when I had a MacBook 13 Unibody Alu model, I loved the trackpad on it. When Apple released the Magic Trackpad, I thought it was pretty cool. Never owned one but finally I bit the bullet and bought one for my *cough* hackintosh. I found one used online with a 9.5/10 condition and warranty...

    Laptop Acquired: MacBook

So I took the laptop out of the bag and went to use it and "BLUESCREEN" The hard drive (windows XP was running on it) slipped off the connector on the SATA Optical Bay adapter. I shimmed it so it won't do it again, but I had to tear it apart to get it reseated. I was hoping the drive wasn't...

    iBook and a bonus!

Nice. I may have to take it for a spin when I visit you. Yoink! no seriously, they are pretty cool machines. Hope you like it. Does the battery work at all on it? Oh the TV video system, got a VCR? that's pretty much I think what it was designed for.

Vertex 2 is SATA-II (3.0Gbps) but it more maxes out slightly over SATA-I speeds for read and under ATA-100 for writes. The fast app open times will be nice :)

    Laptop Acquired: MacBook

So I pulled the DVD drive and surprise surprise, my hunch paid off: That is an mSATA connector. It's what SATA optical and expansion bays use. Essentially a SATA data and power connector that does 5v only. So I threw the HDD into an adapter and threw it in the optical bay: So I will have...

500 Cycles apparently. It says the battery health is normal. It's still charging. It was sitting at 0 which I think they put it to sleep before sending it. Battery was drained. It's taken 2 hours and it's about 82% Has had the plastics already replaced, but a nice health chunk was taken out...

    Laptop Acquired: MacBook

Umm the one I got is actually a 2009 apparently. It came out after the poly-unibody one. Like I said, Unibody plastic in non-unibody fashion. The Unibody Poly was 2009. Slightly after the metal unibody macbook. So this is newer I believe. Do you think apple would warranty the plastics on...

    Laptop Acquired: MacBook

Been thinking of doing simple Video input (Firewire) and Final Cut Pro editing on the go. I headed over to ebay and found a really nice deal. I found a non-unibody white macbook that has much similar features to the plastic uni-body. Basically a 2.13Ghz C2D 2GB RAM DDR2-800 DVD-+RW DL 13"...

    Macintosh Clone 2013

@Bunsen: And for the finishing touch: I had to take the filter panels off both sides to do that. Took about 5 minutes each side to remove the plastic rivets. The sticker is the Apple stickers that shipped with Apples and then it's mounted to the filter panel. Not quite the best, but it's...
