Great - good to know. Thanks!
Actually, the TAM preceeds the Studio Display by exactly 12 months having a 12" Colour LCD built in.
I also have the Apple //c LCD display. It is monochrome, quite small (23x40 lines of text from memory?) and has no backlight. Mine does not have a manufacture...
I am very fortunate that the support arms on all three of mine currently work.
Actually, thanks for the heads up! I read your previous post about this and have been very careful since receiving the displays to carry them by the base and to not manipulate the screen position too much. Hopefully...
Greetings all,
Well I've finally completed the set of early Apple 15" LCD panels.
Just received a 'dark blue' Studio Display (with the old Mac connector and ADB ports) and tested it on a PM8600 and it works beautifully. Only a couple of minor marks on the plastics that I can see. Given it was...
I've not posted my test data, as I did this a long time before I found this forum, however I did an extensive amount of work trying to get the HD20 to work with a Mac128k and basically never found a combination that works.
From memory, the early small MacOS kernels (ie small enough to fit both...
Beware of WD40 and 400k drive mechanisms - I seem to recall that the optical sensors for the drive arm don't take kindly to WD40 (or anything else) being sprayed on them.
I have several drives with dead optical sensors (ie drive keeps ramming the arm mechanism at full extension).
Happy for...
Greetings all,
Having read about PRAM battery and capacitor leakage issues, I have just plucked up the courage to get my Mac II, IIx and IIfx machines down and check their motherboards.
To my great surprise (unlike my usual bad luck), the three machines' internals look great. I didn't have a...
Yes they were.
I haven't had my 128 or 512s powered up for a while but I seem to recall that the 64K ROMs provides a slightly different boot screen (ie more traditional MacOS 6.x double line boarders vs shadowed box on the 32K ROMS).
I also have a vague memory of the About Mac window...
It's quite possible. The source I got them from did receive a lot of equipment from Melbourne University which had a Mac Consortium. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to be able to confirm it absolutely.
Kind regards,
Macdownunder
OK - found some time today. I have replaced the photos on my website:
http://macdownunder.no-ip.info/Platinum512ke/
These were taken outside in daylight on a white background - as requested. The following machines are in the line up (both back and front shots):
1). Beige Mac512ke
2)...
I think you'll find Kallikak's pictured mouse is the model made for the Apple //c and not strictly for the Macintosh (although they will fit and work of course).
Regards,
Macdownunder
Sorry - didn't have a few spare hours to do all that, just put the kids to bed and I need some sleep. But I've put the somewhat shakey photos I just snapped up for the time being.
http://macdownunder.no-ip.info/Platinum512ke
What I hadn't noticed before was that it is an ED model (and I...
No - I thought as you did, until I picked up this platinum 512KE. I thought it was a re-spray job, but the platinum badges would have been very difficult produce out of the factory.
I'll see if I can dig it out and get some better photos later this week.
Kind regards,
Macdownunder
Me too.
I don't have any of the development machines (ie transparent etc), but I do have a Platinum 512KE (ie prior to the colour change over during the Mac Plus era).

Well I have:
1 x Apple ][
1 x Apple ][ plus
3 x Apple ][ europlus
1 x Bell & Howell without backpack or external I/O port
1 x Bell & Howell with backpack and I/O port
? 10 x Apple //e (unenhanced)
? 10 x Apple //e enhanced
? 5 x Apple //e (platinum)
4 x Apple //c (one of each...
That would be great!
I'm very keen to reformat a few dead Profiles I have to see if I can get them back to life to work with their original machines (I've got Apple ][ and /// interfaces plus a few Lisas).
Kind regards,
Macdownunder
Thanks for the link.
Did you notice that Vintage Micros are making a batch of Z8 ROMs for sale?
