I'd have to dig them out again, but I'm fairly certain I have an example of each ROM revision of the //c in my collection. There were certainly different keyboards for US, Euro and probably Japan, but otherwise all my //c's are 'fog'.
The only platinum //c I have is the //c plus.

Hi Byrd,
Did that include this email:
http://www.mail-archive.com/compact.macs@mail.maclaunch.com/msg08514.html
It suggests (like a lot of other posts about using CF cards in adapters etc) that it depends A LOT on the type of CF card being used....
It would appear from other discussions that...
Interesting. I think I recall seeing an article about the prototype IIgs keyboards somewhere - this may well be one of them.
The test and closed apple keys are reminiscent of the Apple //e and //c models and the white-ish case would seem consistent with the development of the //gs during the...
Hi - more likely that it was running Linux and the user wanted better video for running X11. That's certainly what I did with mine. The on board video is not well supported by the newer versions of Linux.
Nice find - enjoy your ANS!
PS: Don't forget to check your power bills. I had to turn...
Hi Bunsen,
A bit of both. Most of the keys were stiff. Where "pounding" (ie continual gentle pushing up/down) didn't work (and mostly it did - eventually), taking the keyboard out and cleaning, working the keys etc. did the job. I didn't need to disassemble the keyboards completely.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.
In recently getting all my Duos out for testing, I found that most of them (in fact all except the 2300c) had this problem. I'm guessing that the contacts oxidize more easily on these models.
In my case, with a little persistence I managed to get all...
Yes - I gather than these needed reasonable software support. Apparently alot of pre-processing took place on the Mac?
I'm hoping that the Service CD set will have the drivers, but I'll keep you in mind slomacuser.
Thanks,

Greetings all,
I negotiated to buy an original Apple Color Printer for the princely sum of US$10 from a fellow in Canada (he may be on here - if so Hi ! ).
Shipping was a whole other matter. Suffice it to say the shipping out factored the sale price many fold and even then the printer only...
Hi Multifinder17,
I can't be looking in the right places. Have you found any 2.5" SCSI -> IDE adapters that are currently available?
Regards,
Macdownunder
So far I have confirmed that 1, possibly two, products are actually available:
A 2.5" SCSI to CF device AUD$98 plus shipping
http://www.artmix.com/CF_powermon.html
and possibly a 2.5" SCSI to IDE device:
http://www.artmix.com/powermonRX.html
I'm still waiting for some other flash...
Digging up an old thread.....
Does anyone have any news about 2.5" SCSI replacement drives?
I've found three devices that are all out of production on the web and emailed each source to see if any are still available.
Does anyone have an alternative in place already?
I have about 10 machines...
Hi LSD - well done on the Gigabit/DA !
I snagged a G4 350 and G4 400 from him for AU$21 each !!!
Also got two G3 400 Imacs that I should be able to combine into one working machine for AU$31 total.
His brief listings put people off I think.

Yes, it was cheaper.
It was also a colour machine and had decent sound capabilities, and with GSOS 6.0 (at least) appeared faster to me in real world application.
I used mine to write my honours thesis in 1987 (including statistic and graphing - which I wrote my own application to do), and...
Greetings all,
Just taking a look at the stack of LC pizza boxes I've got and I started wondering when Apple started using generic cases (ie not screened logos - seems to be linked to non-autoinject floppy drive).
Now, I've got:
LC - screened name
LC II - screened name
LC II -...
Yes - one interesting Mac that is NOT autoranging is the TAM!
It actually requires you to switch a hard switch from 110-220V which I discovered in a very unfortunate way. (Only Mac to do so?) All fixed now thanks to a good circuit level repairer I know.

Hi all,
I've started on the G4 area of my collection in ernest now.
This week, I scored an iBook G4(listed as 800Mhz) sans power supply for a modest $280.
I made a quick power supply converter cable to run from another apple 45W/24V supply and away we went.
It appeared that the DVD drive...
I saw (but did not bid on) one of these interface kits on eBay not long ago. The listing appears to have dropped off the completed search.
From what I recall, it appeared to replace the logic board in a HD20 to provide a SCSI interface to the HD20 drive mechanism.

Macdownunder
