Also (sorry for all the replies) I’d need to know what kind of chip that is to buy blanks… I’ve done eprom burning before but have never worked with that kind of chip tbh.. a bit rusty since I don’t do it that often.
Trag I’m thinking of taking my chip out and getting it duplicated. Besides delivery worries would you be able to safely duplicate? I’ve got a GQ-4x4 programmer myself I would just need to get the adapter to read it. Of course if I do it I’d share the chips file with everyone 😊
Hey I did find an actual download of the site on Macintosh Repository.. Not sure if this link will work https://www.macintoshrepository.org/download.php?id=10431&go=1 Either way the vintageapple.org site is archived at the Macintosh Repository for future reference. :)
Hey I know this is a very old post but does anyone have these drivers?? The site doesn't appear to have them any longer unfortunately.... Thanks in advance!
Does anyone happen to know exactly the type of grease they use on the floppy drive on worm drive mechanism (cork screw). I’ve tried a new coat of white lithium grease but a little ends up on the floppy door. There has to be a heavier weight grease they use. It appears to be a light brownish...
Well here is the file... perhaps someone can convert it into the installer it's supposed to be??? I had to move it to a PC then Zip it.. sorry for that.. Maybe someone could help me out.. Thanks everyone
Trying to install drivers for a solo B4600 on my MacOS 9 machine. It has the drivers but I cannot get this PCL installer to launch.. is there a way to extract the driver?? You can see the instructions on how to do it but it cannot find the application that created it.. and I’m installing it from...
That’s an excellent idea. All my bays are taken up. There is a huge amount of space at the bottom of the case though. I installed the G3 300mhz NewerTech MaxPowr and it works excellent. I set the dips to #1 & #4 on as recommended for the Mach 5. Installed the NewerTech MaxPowr software 2.0.5...
Yes I have both of those. I have some spares as well if each. I’ve actually recapped them with tantalum capacitors before they eventually leak. I’m trying to get ahead of the game instead of having to clean up leaked cap boards that have damaged other components. You may want to consider doing...
Phipli thanks for the info!! I actually don’t have a 9600 but was curious. I was considering one. This information I’m sure will be very helpful to someone with one. Which brings me to the PM8600.. I am about to pop into tomorrow a G3 upgrade. I have the Motorolla 604 @ 300 MHz. So it has the...
Could someone explain the difference between the two logic boards? One appears to have more soldered on chips near the PCI slots and one is missing them. Just curious on why they made two different versions..
Hey I found a broken cap.. any chance someone could tell me the value of the cap at C39 on the rear of the SE/30 board??? Ceramic cap. Thanks I really appreciate it 😊😊😊
It appears on another board to say A5
Well I figured it out after hours and hours so hopefully this thread will help someone!! I had to remove all the OS 8.6, OS 9.1, or 9.2 USB extensions and install “USB Card Support 1.3.5” in order to be able to drag and drop. It’s very slow but it no longer freezes.
