Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Success! But it took some force.
Oh, and I found the ‘modern’ ribbon cable ;-) The clerk at ‘MHz Data’(a vintage PC-store) didn’t even wanna charge me for it!
Finally, some good news! :-)
I think I found someone local who sits on a load of IIs, shall I ask him if he has any of your requests mentioned above?
Thank you Bolle!
I switched to a Noctua fan in one of mine.
I started this thread a while back:
I came as far as to pin down the capacitors, however, the caps may vary from PSU to PSU, so I would recommend to open it.
I’m looking for an INIT that supposedly is called “NoStereo” and fixes some issues with the 601 turbo cache. Anyone here heard of it, tried it, or know where to find it?
The flaky and stripy video was a broken 26-pin LCD monitor cable. Has anyone had this problem, and how was it fixed? Where would you find this kind of cable today and what is it called?
I’m currently looking for a light pipe (the little optical plastic thing that let the light from the LED travel to the surface of the computer case) for a Macintosh IIfx. I have already posted in the trading section, but since I’m curious and I would like to tighten the odds on finding one...
I must say, the IIfx is a very clean machine! No leaky SMDs and the PSU seems to pretty solid! :-)
32 MB RAM and FX ROM in place! I’ll try @Bolle battery hack another day! ;-)
