Nope I'm missing a cap which is stuck in the mail! But I think the problem is in the bias circuit, the screen goes on for a moment then fades away.

Update guys: it died  The screen is blank, I think it is one of the caps in the buck converter that I changed. I will need a new round of love :)

It is indeed in great condition! The screen is perfect. I bought it because I wanted the power brick, floppy and battery for my other system and it was cheaper this way. Well I guess PB100 are like cats and now I have to keep it... ;)

AppleShare via AirTalk between Mac Plus and MacBook Air

Question still in topic for the ot: does netatalk do routing between Ethernet and localtalk?

Did you ever try to open one if the hard drives from these machines? The drive that came with this one spins but does not seek, so I wonder if a delicate nudge on the head assembly would help... it is dead anyways...

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

I have a version for Linux and MacOS (Intel) that I have compiled myself and I can share them if I'm allowed to.

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

I was studying the kernel too today, the "double" assignment of the addresses happens there too.

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

The AppleTalk stack in Linux absolutely could use some love! I would be in to try to fix at least some of the issues I have found, but I would need help from people more knowledgeable than me in kernel affairs to guide me at least on how to submit eventual patches.

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

Yup indeed it is set as phase 2! But... no matter what I do, phase 1 does not work. I start atalkd + afpd and packets never make it to the tashtalk driver, they disappear in the AppleTalk stack :( I guess this is something else to debug another day. On a more positive note, with my fix/hack in...

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

Is there anybody that knows the AppleTalk kernel stack of netatalk well that can help me out? I think I tracked the problem with sending files from the mac to the pc crashing. Extremely long story short, the deadlock happens because the function at_addr_eq() in atp_packet.c at some point cannot...

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

The second attempt at address arbitration seems to come somewhere from the AppleTalk stack. I tried this in raw.c where I'm sure there is only one call to set the address, and I get the same result as you, but in no place I set the address twice! I will have a deeper look, personally I'm not a...

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

Mini update: I finally build a high-tech adapter for a real localtalk network, and tried everything with MacOS 9.1 which worked well (except copying files to the pc) My high-tech USB to LocalTalk (not shown the PhoneNet link) Happy MacOS 9.1 on my PowerBook G3 PDQ. I wanted to try it with...

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

Mini update: I implemented a basic ENQ responder and basic arbitration for the address, and cleaned up stuff around the code. It is slowly getting there :) Next steps are making a read usb -> lt interface so I can test it with other macs, and trying to figure out what is wrong with afpd.

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

Yes afpd seems to do some weird stuff with permissions, I will have a look there later, for the moment I want to make sure the driver is working, finish up what is missing, and clean it up. BTW I merged you patch, many thanks!

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

Pull-up added, the framing errors seem to have disappeared! Now there is a problem with afpd that I cannot copy filoes from the mac to the pc, but it does not seem the driver's fault, I have no idea what is going on :( (printing and copying files to the mac works perfectly)

    ModTashtalk: lt0 driver for Linux

The serial on the modem port continuously outputs data even when it disables the transceiver, so the interference could come from that (keep in mind, my setup is dodgy on this respect)
