Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Finally had time to test the new boards, just to discover I made an error and the regulator releases the magic smoke. Who can spot the error? sigh
Time to make a next batch of boards I guess.
Is Mini vMac on GitHub? I was able to build it on Mac and Linux (not windows), would it be possible to make a fork with binary releases (and maybe fixes)?
Haha true it is a good thing drives could still be swapped! I still have the box of my old NUpowr upgrade, with manuals and disks, and the original 040 board it replaced.
I just bought a NUpowr 117 PPC upgrade for a powerbook 5xx (which I don't yet have) as the fist step to reproduce my fist "real" laptop (a 520c with said upgrade, that disappeared with the friend I lend it to). Somebody please suggest excuses not to feel guilty!
Ohhh fantastic job! The IIci was the first computer I've ever used, it was my father's and he used it up until 2002 or 2003. Very cool machine, I remember setting it up for dialup internet in 1994.
What did you use to trace the PCB?
Sorry I was away and I lost a bit the thread here :) I do use DCD and DTR as "gpio" lines that I probe on my CDEV. For the 5v tolerance, I've read everything and the contrary, and to be sure and avoid long term braseros, I run my 32s only with 3.3v shifting were needed.
I *think* the Rx line needs to be pulled, you can have a look at my airtalk board in the other thread, it communicates with an esp and is quite stable. I can also paste the schematic here but I can do it when I get off the train this night.
I had a look in the Designing Cards book, and indeed there is a selector in hardware. I think there is a control panel that selects if to use the internal or external port?
