    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

Hi there, if your hardware is ready, you are 90% there. Just download the latest version of fluxengine, and use the following command on windows: fluxengine read mac800 -o dump.diskcopy --usb.greaseweazle=com3 and change com3 with the com port assigned to your device by windows. I have...

Is there any iomega zip drive enclosure 3d print drawing available?

That's a good idea but since I have a 3d printer, I was thinking of maybe creating something like @PotatoFi has done for other cases. I have noticed that the zip drives have very small tolerances for all parts. For example I have not been able to run the drive without the top cover attached. I...

Is there any iomega zip drive enclosure 3d print drawing available?

Thanks. This is what i have already done. Problem is that all of these units brake no matter how careful you are when opening. This was the second case (from a parallel drive) that I broke

Is there any iomega zip drive enclosure 3d print drawing available?

Hi all, does anyone know if such a thing exists? My scsi zip 100 drive fell down and broke into 100 pieces. It seems that the plastic that makes these thing has become very brittle. I am wondering if an enclosure could be 3d printed. I've done some research online but couldn't find something.

Thanks for your reply. The german shop lists it as pre-order only. Do you think it will be faster from germany or from tindie? Thanks

My experiences with a scsi iomegia zip drive (100mb)

Hi all, I recently acquired a scsi iomega zip drive and wanted to share my experience using it with a mac plus. a) The 4.2 driver is required in order to auto-mount the zip disk and to eject it. b) Once you perform a normal format on the disk, you can copy a system folder, and immediately you...

    MagicSD for SCSI2SD owners

You are correct. The size must be at least 512mb+512mb+48kb, however I have found no harm in setting it higher so I find it easier to round it off to the next higher even value e.g. 2GB. Scsi2sd does not complain even if the size is larger than the sd card. To be honest, the process in creating...

    MagicSD for SCSI2SD owners

I had also thought about that but I am missing some skills to do it on my own. Ideally, a script would ask the users to specify number of partitions, size of partitions, the path to sd card. It would then format the sd card, write files and give out the start address required for the scsi2sd...

    MagicSD for SCSI2SD owners

In scsi2sd, leave the default (512 bytes). 1kb is the sector size of the file system. But you only need to worry about that if you are building from scratch (different partition layout)

    MagicSD for SCSI2SD owners

Hi all, I am rebuilding the MagicSD thread because it was lost in the recent data loss event and I know that at least some of you found it useful. What it is It is an image that you write to an empty SD card and is meant to be used together with SCSI2SD. In contrast to other devices/projects...

    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

You are right. I tried it on Mac and have the same behaviour. On a windows vm it goes further.

    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

Do you get an error message? In the latest fluxengine version you have to specify the greaseweazle com port i.e. --usb.greaseweazle=com3 In case you previously used ZaDig to replace your USB driver, you have to use it again to revert to the original greaseweazle driver (usbser)

    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

Great job! this is my setup (modified enclosure from thingiverse to fit the stm32 board). By the way, have you had any success with the latest version of fluxengine? I am unable to write discs. I have let the developer know, however since no one else has mentioned something, I am wondering if...

    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

Make sure you tape the hole if the disk is hd. also, i. The beginning i also had same issues like you, then I cleaned the heads of the floppy, and steadily the bad sector problem started to go away

    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

@erichelgeson The label on it says Sony, model: MPF820-E. I pulled it off of an old computer. do you get an error? Do you have problem reading or writing?

    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

It is the same command as 1.44MB disks. I think it reads the right format from the diskcopy header. The command is  fluxengine write mac -i mac.diskcopy and relevant information can be found here http://cowlark.com/fluxengine/doc/disk-macintosh.html

    800k floppy read-write with Greaseweazel + FluxEngine = Success!

That's great. I hope you get good results. I found that the Mac drive is better at reading. E.g. when reading some disks with this setup I might get a few bad sectors, whereas the Mac drive can make an image just fine. But nevertheless it gives more choices which is great.
