    AppleColor RGB Monitor

I will later on this weekend. It seems to be running great. Now all I need is some sort of hard storage, a full install of System 6.0.1, Wolfenstein 3D, and I'll be set!!

    AppleColor RGB Monitor

Just picked this up from Dan Knight yesterday. Paid $15 for it. Included the video cable. Cabinet is pretty yellowed, not nearly the same shade as my Iigs. It's a bass ackward monitor, too. Where most monitors I have handled have an integrated video cable, and a removable power cord, this one...

TV Tuner card in 6500 not working...

Ah yes, that explains it. Now I just need to dig out one of those cards. I think I have one somewhere, and if not, they are cheap. The pictures over here show the big chip on it has Phillips silkscreened on it, and my tuner card has Phillps engraved on the metal box over the coax connector...

TV Tuner card in 6500 not working...

Yeah, I have AVP installed, but the only thing available in it is to search for MPEG files on the hard drive. I tried hooking up an antenna, no dice. Unless the antenna portion is not hot pluggable, and I need to reboot? And yes, a VCR is a great idea. I could use it as a VHS digitizing...

TV Tuner card in 6500 not working...

I discovered this card in my pile of cards, and popped it in my 6500. It's an Apple part number 820-0549-A, with copyright 1994. It has 1 coaxial port on it. I plugged it in, and put 8.6 on the 6500. When I press the TV/Mac button on the remote, it launches Apple Video Player. There is only one...

    Trenton Conquest Part III

Well, I took the little fuse to rat shack, they tested it and it was good. I took a look at those fuses that are the same voltage and amperage, and they are about twice the size of mine!! I did see some glass ones that are smaller, and are 250v, but top out at about 3 amps, so those would not...

    Trenton Conquest Part III

Alright, I took the power supply out of the DA, opened it up, and took a look around for fuses. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the silvery glint of the metallic end of a fuse. It was on a board hanging upside down by the power connectors (the DA's PS has 2 power connectors, but the output...

    Trenton Conquest Part III

Alright, I had a chance today to test the other machines. The 6100 has a 250mhz G3 upgrade in the slot, but I dug out the DOS compatibility card and cable I had kicking around, and plugged that in instead. It also has a 2.5gb HD, and 72mb of RAM. the CD-ROM does not appear to be working, or else...

    Trenton Conquest Part III

Alright, I just got back, slimmer pickings, but I had to cut back, as I am running out of room: -466mhz Digital Audio (not quicksilver) G4. Has a dead power supply, as it will not do anything when plugged in. -Power Macintosh 6500/275. Has unknown RAM, HD, or any of that, but it has an...

    Trenton Conquest Part III

ah ok, I forgot about ADC drawing power. I doubt I would use that though, as most of my monitors I have kicking around are VGA. but I'll take a look at it before I invest in a new power supply. Looks like it won't be until June 8th until I can get it, but still trying to see if I can get this...

    Trenton Conquest Part III

Is it just a wattage issue, or a slightly different connector? If the latter, I wonder if a B&W supply can be modded. I know an ATX can. I might do that. Though they said it MIGHT be the supply. I might get lucky and it could be something very simple.

    Trenton Conquest Part III

So, I got another email from my contact in the school district. They said they have more stuff that is going to be chucked, but I can have it. Some good stuff in the preceding email: Can a B&W G3 power supply be used in a quicksilver? I know the connector is similar, the apple proprietary...

    PowerBook G4 Titanium

LUCKY!! Shove Leopard onto that, it will just barely fit. Or keep tiger, it's a nice OS still. Hope someone hands me something like that one of these days. I'd be perfectly happy with a 400mhz unit.

    Goodwill store finds

Very nice. I have a UMAX Astra 2100U, but it is USB only. I prefer my Epson Perfection 1640SU, because it has both USB and SCSI interfaces, and can scan negatives. I even have that accesory, as mine is the photo variant. Though right now, my main scanner is my all in one, our new HP J4680...

    700 MHz iMac G3s

Yeah, because the motherboard had the firewire chip in it, it just lacked the ports, IIRC. So, you *could* add firewire to these, though not easily. Nice score!! I have been on the hunt for a 700mhz model for some time. Quite rare indeed. I would be happy with any iMac G3, they are just so cute.

    iBook Power Adapter!!

Ok, so not very exciting. But my power adapter died, so a hop, skip and jump to the apple store later, and I have a brand new one. Works well enough. Anyways, I made an unboxing video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_F-DJOlGfs enjoy.

    Powerbook 5300 LiIon

Actually, there were no ROM changes, but to make the LiIon batt work on the 5300, you should only use the original System 7.5.2 with PB 5300 enabler. After 7.5.2, apple removed support from the OS for the LiIon batt. Maybe someone who has that particular revision could figure out what they...

    Two Imac's

Very nice. I have 3 indigo iMacs without lower plastics, drives, or motherboards, and one I took the inner bezel off of for Tommy. I would like to get a 700mhz graphite, because I love the slotload iMacs, and graphite is my favorite colour out of the rainbow. Though, I do like the snow model...

    Questions about disk drives

yeah, I tried the HD 20, no dice. It just sat there. I booted off the GS/OS system floppy, and ran the advanced disk utility on the system tools 1 disk. It did not even pick it up, though I did get power to it, as I was chaining the floppy drive though the HD20. Oh, the HD in that pic is a HD...

    Questions about disk drives

ah yes, for some reason, I had a hunch it was 4. So I can't have 3x 5.25" and 1x 3.5? Not a big deal, as I have the right cards. I just need to pull it out of my IIe. I Could try the HD20, if I blow the port, I actually have 2 other IIgses I could use, though the other 2 are ROM 01s. I might...
