    Macintosh LC SCSI whining?

I used to cut smt capacitors with side cutters until I tried twisting. Now I am happy enough grabbing the top with some pliers and twisting while maintaining down-force, keeping the cap centred in it's plastic bottom. It seems to be faster than these videos of people pulling&wiggling, as...

PPC, okay it's a PS3, but technically a PPC, right?

There is a reset procedure involved in switching from HDTV to SDTV, as you likely read. Crappy display or not.

Booting 540c Off of PCMCIA Rev C. Card Cage on 7.1.1?

Having three wires seems to just be the way it is hooked up in the case of the Wallstreet. IDK about older PBs. Pull the heatshrink and/or sticker off to have a look. Someone with a spot welder could whip these things up really easily. Having a PB PRAM/backup battery database might be a nice...

How to get rid of that Fish Smell in...

You can buy UV protective waterproofing in either spray cans or brush/roll-on cans. If baking soda does not work and it comes down to washing the bag, you might try by hand in a bucket of water&vinegar before tossing the bag out.You could also use the time to wash&coat old tents as well.

CF to IDE adapter has too many pins

I am sorry, my previous image was askew. But I did probe the six pins at that end of the WS/PDQ adapter to find that they are not connected to anything at all. My issue was not an incorrect jumper, it was no jumper.(but I use this adapter in my 1400 anyway, so no problem) Silly apple, covering...

CF to IDE adapter has too many pins

Yes, but you can still follow them about and figure out what way things plug in. OP's question is already answered, but this is what I was talking about. Not all CF adapters just plug into the WS/PDQ because WS/PDQ tries to take over master/slave/cableselect pins and not all CF adapters follow...

CF to IDE adapter has too many pins

I know I have at least one CF adapter that will not work in WS/PDQ because it uses a different layout for the master/slave/cselect pins. In that case the only option would be to snip off those pins and bridge on the PCB or desolder and attach some wires to a glued down header for easy jumper...

    Powerbook 1400C and Asante EN/SC

I am not sure about other asante units, but in the case of my Asante Mini EN/SC 10T as far as I know the only driver issue with whatever version I have used is they are not Open Transport compatible. At least, that is the only hangup I have encountered when using mine. I do not know if the...

    Quad G5 LCS service

You may or may not find the dye in the coolant breaking down eventually. And to be honest, plasticizer used in the tubing can leech and plug up things too. The way to avoid the latter is to go full metal or use acrylic tubing.

Prototype Mac Case, that is the question . . .

Some of us could spend all day sending you pictures of generic cases that have the buttons and LEDs mounted in the metal instead of the plastic.Nothing special about that or your case. Nothing special about holes all over the place. This is par for the course with generic PC cases. Please...

HELP! Noob Building a Parallel Port ROM HackStation . . .

I would say it is more that random ebay-pulls are not very builder-friendly, but that is a different argument for a different time. Did you plug in the 12v 4pin or 8pin power connector generally near the CPU socket? I might also double check standoff positions on the motherboard tray to make...
