Definitely the logic board is the main culprit, well and batteries. Analog board is straight forward though.

worse case can just take a soldering iron and melt that gap back won't be pretty but it will "seal" it back up

Yeah unfortunately that CRT is done for but this should be a drop in replacement. You will need to adjust the geometry and such after install and make sure you read up on replacing the tube and adjusting the yoke.
