My Daystar Turbo 601-80 is a PDS+Nubus card for 040 Macs. You can turn it off and use the built in 68040 AND still use the extra RAM so that has to be implemented on the Nubus side correct (128MB RAM)?
Also, the Daystar RAM Powercard was available in 1990 with 64MB (upgradable to 256MB) for...
You can install 4GB of RAM on a P4 system, but the system overhead takes up space and each GPU sucks up 128 or 256MB windows so usable memory is lower.
The built in Q950 video is much better than that you would get from a videovision.
P.S. I have the Telecast setup for both PCI and Nubus versions of the card(s).
The 9000 Pro uses 275 Mhz for the GPU and 275Mhz for the DDR speed, The 9100 uses 250Mhz for the GPU but 200 Mhz for the DDR (its dual channel to make up for speed difference). So, if your modified BIOS is using 250/250 you are overclocking the RAM.
The problem with new motherboards or new cases is Nubus cards are wider than PCI cards so you will have issues in mounting and spacing.
I do like people making 100% motherboard recreations so battery bombed, or broken systems can be fixed. Same with CPU upgrade cards. I wouldn't even mind a...
Honestly soap, water, and a soft paintbrush will clean out a power supply as well as case parts, just let it air dry a few days before powering it up.
Things I can't stand on old machines:
1. Rat/Mouse poop/pee (basically I would 99.999% of the time junk it unless it is very rare).
2. bugs of...
I have seen a broken head in the past and of course plastic broken on Mac auto inject drives (which can now be replaced).
Not sure how you could glue the head back on and keep it aligned so it reads disks reliably.
I don't recall having many issues with PC floppy drives to be honest.
