I never like using a beta of anything, the Coders made it beta for a reason. Also, 6.3.3 for 68K just to avoid the fat binary.
I use AppleTalk all the time. What is Trawl?
HAs anyone found a way to fix the hinge cracking problem. My beloved 1400c/G3 has a small crack in the case lid near the hinge. I have a 1400cs which has completely crack through. I want to hopefully stop the 1400c doing the same thing.
Headless A/UX is quite a feat and AppleShare Pro is a tough one also. I use to admin a Q950 running A/UX back in the day that was then replaced with a Network Server 500 with AIX. Being a Mac guy this was a bit weird but it helped me with OS X when it came along.
I have used the holiday downtime to setup a few macs with either Mac OS 7.5.5 (68K) or Mac OS 8.1 (PPC). I removed all the PRAM battery years ago and don’t really want to reinstall them. I remember back in the day there was a clock utility that would restore the time and date via a time server...
I tried these settings, no luck. Basilisk II now sees the Ethernet interface in the AppleTalk and TCP/IP control panels but doesn’t see anything on the network.
Is it possible to get AFP working on Basilisk II currently running on my M2 MacBook Air. I am hoping to connect it to my Netatalk 2.x server running on my PiSCSI preferably via DDP but over IP would also work. I realise I will probably need the MBAir connected to the network physically (not...
Do any Macs support the Apple full page display (not the 21" display) from their built in video? I vaguely remember the IIsi supporting it back in the day.
What exactly is the tricky required? I am trying to setup a similar server. It looks like a Mac Mini running 10.4 covers my 7.5.3 to 10.11 machines. I just need that 7.1 solution.
That makes me feel better that a “coincidence” was possible. I just realised I had also been stressing the PSU out earlier with a new SSD-IDE drive copying off the original ATA hard drive. Maybe a combination of both sucked a little too much for it to handle.
That was my original question in the thread. I had come to the same conclusion, how could RAM with higher voltage break something rather than it just not work? The only answer was that is was coincidence that the PSU blew at the same time I opened the machine to put the RAM in.
Exactly what I thought and then even with removing the EAM the PSU is still smoking. They system definitely doesn’t like it as the power light comes of for about 3 seconds and then turns off the whole the system still tries to boot with PSU smoking it’s head off.
