Keep in mind this was my experience with units coming from the Singapore factory. Things could have been very different for units coming out of the Cork factory.
Everything from LC to LC475 all had the screw. I do remember a batch of Performa 400's that were delivered without the screw. We had to send a screw to each school who requested them.
They all shipped with the screw. It was considered an extra deterant to the theft of internal parts in education environments. The theft of RAM was a big issue. So was mouse balls but that was much harder to stop.
ls -l /dev/cu.* to identify the port.
crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 0x9000001 Jan 08 20:56 /dev/cu.usbserial-10
Then just paste /dev/cu.usbserial-10 into SheepShaver serial port.
This is awesome. The last time I looked at this was 2.2.8 and had the Asante bridge issues. It has been a while so are the any installation instructions online? I believe I used the pisscsi? Instructions last time.
No matter what I try I can’t get the serial ports to work in Basilisk II however I was able to get them working in SheepShaver when using a USB to serial adapter to my Palm III and eMate. It was just a matter of adding the adapter in Settings.
The mistake everyone is make here and is a logical one is that the Performa was consumer only and the LC was Education. That might have been the case in the USA but wasn’t the case elsewhere in the world. Australia and most of Asia Pacific including Japan sold Performas into Education. Remember...
I just got Apple Internet Router (nothing to do with "the" internet really) AND the Apple IP Gateway AND AppleShare 3 all working on an SE/30. I now have zones "Ethernet" and "LocalTalk" (very imaginative I know), an AppleShare file server and System 7 machines on LocalTalk connecting to the...
Hoping it is the PSU and don’t really have time for diagnostics, parts etc before Christmas. I was hoping for a simple software solution I could throw into a 6100 or something.
The PSU in my Cayman Gator box has just failed. I was using it for LocalTalk to Ethernet routing as well as MacIP serving. I had two zones set up, one called LocalTalk and one called Ethernet. Imaginative hey.
I have replaced it with a Farallon iPrint which does work (sort of) but it doesn’t...
There is no compress option when right clicking under 10.2, that was the first thing I tried.
I am still hoping to find a zip utility for 10.2. I Don’t want to use StuffIt as I want to future proof as much as possible.
I have a bunch of files on my MacMini running 10.2.7. I want to zip them but can't find a compression utility on the machine such as the newer versions of Mac OS X have. I need a compression utility for 10.2.7 but can't seem to find one anywhere.
